BRANSON ON THE ROAD
Sunday, May 1
The Palace Theater
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
Featured on national television, BRANSON
ON THE ROAD is in the same tradition as the
traveling road shows during the glory days of
the Grand Ole Opry, the Louisiana Hayride and the
first Branson music shows…and now, Branson is coming
to us in beautiful Wisconsin Dells.
The award-winning BRANSON ON THE ROAD will keep us
tapping, laughing and smiling from opening note to final curtain. Debbie
Horton, Donnie Wright and Brian Capps will entertain us with their fiddles,
mandolins, banjos, guitars, upright slap bass, hilarious comedy and great
classic country, bluegrass, rockabilly and gospel music. This fast-paced, high
energy show will leave us with a smile on our face and, for sure, humming a
tune or two.
BRANSON ON THE ROAD has been bringing the Branson show experience
to audiences around the country for a decade and the Branson Tri-Lakes
Chamber of Commerce recognized BRANSON ON THE ROAD as traveling
ambassadors for Branson.
The Palace Theater was closed for five years before Anthony Tomaska saw
the “For Sale” sign while on vacation in the Dells. Anthony was with his
wife at the time and she told him to keep driving and insisted that he was
not buying that! Like a smart husband, Anthony drove on but couldn’t get
the place out of his head. Two weeks later, Anthony and his brother went
to see the building. In the fall of 2013, Anthony (with the full support of
his wife) bought the 796-seat theater with his brother and began producing
dinner theater shows in November, 2014. The Palace Theater is one of only
a handful of similar playhouses in Wisconsin. The Tomaska brothers have
turned an empty building into a beautiful theater with amazing productions,
delicious food, and a courteous and friendly staff.
COST PER PERSON: $85.00
Tour Includes: Deluxe motorcoach transportation, one meal and reserved
seating for BRANSON ON THE ROAD.

MAGGIE MAE
Saturday, May 7
The Palace Theater
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
RFD TV’s Midwest Country Singer,
Maggie Mae is travelling the short
distance from Oxford to Wisconsin
Dells to perform in the beautiful
Palace Theater.
We’ll enjoy a great afternoon of
music, food, fun and dancing with
Maggie Mae and her Heartland Country
Band and hear some of the best traditional country and yodeling music
around. Maggie Mae, a home-grown talented country singer, Nashville
recording artist and Branson performer from Oxford, Wisconsin has been
entertaining crowds nationwide. She is becoming one of the biggest
Midwestern names in pure country music. She is a favorite performer on
RFD TV’s “Midwest Country Show” and “Virginia Dreams Center Stage
Show,” which has made her a familiar face in millions of homes across the
country. Maggie Mae’s instant rapport with the audience and her enthusiasm
throughout her shows guarantee enjoyment, not only for country music fans
but also anyone who just loves good music. Maggie Mae has been singing
and performing to country music fans since 2002. She started out singing to
customers in her café in Oxford and has since recorded nine CDs.
Not only will you be impressed with Maggie Mae, but also the Palace Theater.
This 796-seat theater is a unique place because it is the size of a Broadway
theater where dinner tables are on risers so every seat is a great one. The
owners (brothers) have been in the restaurant business and had produced
“Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” for 18 years in Chicago. They know theater and
groups. The Palace Theater is in the heart of beautiful Wisconsin Dells with
towering sandstone cliffs hugging the shore of the Wisconsin River. The
natural beauty of the area is enhanced by the beauty of The Palace Theater.

JAZZ-ME-ON-THE-WATER
Sunday, May 22
Stillwater, Minnesota
Join us for an exciting cruise on an authentic paddle wheeler as we glide
along the beautiful St. Croix River. This river is one of the last undisturbed,
large floodplain rivers in the upper Mississippi River system. The Riverway is
an unrivaled combination of exceptional natural and cultural resources and
scenic, aesthetic and recreational values.
Enjoy the authentic Dixieland sounds of “The Emperors of Jazz” while
enjoying a delicious buffet lunch of roast beef and herb roasted chicken.
Dixieland music is a style of jazz which developed in New Orleans at the
start of the 20th century and was spread to Chicago and New York by
New Orleans bands in the 1910’s. Dixieland jazz combines brass band
marches, French Quadrilles, ragtime and blues with collective, polyphonic
improvisation by trumpet, trombone, and clarinet over a “rhythm section”
of piano, guitar, banjo, drums, and a double bass or tuba. Well known jazz
standard songs from the Dixieland era include “Basin Street Blues” and
“When the Saints Go Marching In.”

SEX PLEASE WE’RE SIXTY
Thursday, June 2
DayTrippers Dinner Theatre
Bloomington, Minnesota
“Sex Please We’re Sixty” is the naughty but nice play from husband and wife
writing team Michael and Susan Parker. Written in the style of The Golden
Girls meet The Grumpy Old Men, this hysterical comedy-drama is filled with
mayhem, mischief and mood swings. Despite the title and subject matter,
the production is done in good taste. There’s not a curse word anywhere and
there’s nothing vulgar in the story line.
The story takes place at Mrs. Stancliffe’s Rose Cottage Bed and Breakfast, in
New England. She has repeat business (mostly women), who return to the
cottage each year. Three women arrive on the same day, Victoria Ambrose,
Hillary Hudson and Charmaine Beauregard.
Mrs. Stancliffe’s next door neighbor, Bud “the Stud” Davis, awaits the arrival
of his “chicks,” believing that the main reason these gals return each season
is to “romance” with him. Henry, another neighbor and wannabee suitor
to Mrs. Stancliffe, is a retired chemist. He has developed “Venusia,” a new
pill, used to increase the libido of menopausal women although it has yet to
be tested. When Bud mistakenly takes the “Venusia,” the bawdy, rollicking
romp begins. If you, yourself, (or anyone you know) has had menopausal
hot flashes, sweats or erratic hormonal activity, you will relate and with the
unexpected turn of events, laugh yourself silly.
DayTrippers Dinner Theatre is performed in the ballroom at the
Bloomington Eagles Club. A delicious lunch will be served at the theatre
prior to the performance.
COST PER PERSON: $74.00
Tour includes: Deluxe motorcoach transportation, one meal and reserved
seating for SEX PLEASE WE’RE SIXTY.

A LITTLE BIT MORE OF
EVERYTHING TOUR
Sunday, June 5 - Friday, June 10
Springfield, Illinois, Eureka Springs, Arkansas and
Springfield and Branson, Missouri
This exciting tour has a mix of attractions, entertainment, history, religion,
drama, animals and a whole lot of fun!
It’s the Carillon Festival in Springfield, Illinois and we will enjoy a concert
by Carlo van Ulft, the carillonist playing the Rees Carillon Belles. A carillon
is a very unique instrument consisting of 67 cast bronze bells which range in
weight from 22 pounds to 7½ tons with a total bell weight of 85,000 pounds.
The Rees Carillon currently ranks as the fifth largest in the world. There
is a large video screen at the base of the Carillon which allows us to view
the playing keyboard and carillonist during the performance. The 12-story
carillon tower has three observations decks and offers a spectacular view of
Washington Park and Springfield from the city’s highest point of elevation.
Our evening will include a picnic lunch in the park. Bring a lawn chair to enjoy
the concert.
While in Springfield, we will visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum
where the Journeys Gallery is a two part journey that introduces us to a
teenaged Lincoln as he is reading borrowed books by firelight. We will view his
life while in Springfield, IL, including his courtship with Mary Todd, his home
life, his legal and political careers, his law practice, and the Lincoln-Douglas
debates. As we walk out, we’ll observe then president-elect Lincoln making
his famous and emotional farewell speech before leaving Springfield for
Washington, D.C. where he will begin his first term as president. He will not
return alive. The Presidential Years Journey is a full-scale reproduction of the
White House, “Blue Room.” The journey continues through Lincoln’s life while
he dealt with the personal tragedy of the death of his son Willie and the effect
on his wife Mary, the human tragedy and sacrifice of the war, the emancipation
controversy, the Gettysburg dedication ceremony, and the conclusion of the
Civil War. The journey ends with the night of April 14, 1865, and its aftermath.
We’ll pass through a re-creation of Ford’s Theater, where John Wilkes Booth
shot Abraham Lincoln, on our way to a nearly full scale re-creation of the
Representatives Hall in Springfield’s Old State Capitol where we can pay our
last respects as we file past the closed casket of Abraham Lincoln. This worldclass center devoted to Abraham Lincoln took almost four times as long as the
Civil War that defined his presidency.
We will also visit the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and tour the home
that Lincoln lived in for 17 years. We will follow in the footsteps of the father,

Little Bit of Everything continued...
husband, lawyer, and statesman who led the nation through the turbulent
Civil War, and inspired him to turn the war into a “new birth of freedom.”
From Springfield, Illinois we will travel to Stafford, Missouri and visit The
Wild Animal Safari. This 5 mile drive thru tour may bring us face to face with
a Camel or an American Bison. We’ll see Elk, Water Buffalo and Wildebeest
running free. Tigers, hyenas and zebra are just a few more of the animals we’ll
see on the safari. This safari is safe and very entertaining for all ages.
The Live Entertainment Capital of the World, Branson, Missouri will be our
host for the next three nights. We will enjoy The Texas Tenors who were
voted # 1 vocal group on America’s Got Talent. Their unique blend of country,
gospel, classical and broadway features breathtaking vocals, humor, and
irresistible charm.
We will also enjoy a morning show featuring the Blackwoods. This variety
show has a wide variety of musical styles, only rivaled by their fabulous
costumes. The Blackwood family is world-renowned for soulful southern
gospel harmonies. Their signature is delivering beautiful harmonies,
heartwarming humor and hope.
A full day will be spent in Eureka Springs as we enjoy the Holy Land and the
Great Passion Play. The Holy Land tour provides visitors of all ages with the
unique opportunity to experience the people, culture, and history of the
ancient Middle East. On this 2-hour interactive Biblical teaching tour, we will
explore the ancient Middle-Eastern culture in which Jesus was raised from
the time of Moses to the time of Christ. This educational and inspirational
experience is in the comfort of a Holy Land Tour bus with stops along the
way to allow you to meet Biblical characters who will help you understand
the living history of the scriptures. Each individual exhibit in the New Holy
Land has been researched for historical accuracy and has been recreated as
authentically as possible. Some stops on the tour include: a full-scale replica
of Moses’ Tabernacle in the Wilderness, a first century stable typical of where
Jesus was born, and the upper room where Jesus and his disciples feasted for
the Last Supper.
The Great Passion Play begins with the resurrection of Lazarus and continues
on the Triumphal Entry of Christ into Jerusalem on the day known as Palm
Sunday. During the performance we will witness the significant events leading
to and including Christ’s crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension into Heaven.
We will see the colorful spectacle of the market place, the pageantry of the
chariot and camel caravan, and the hustle and bustle of the crowds as they
go about their daily activities. The performance is held in a 550-foot wide,
multilevel stage in an outdoor amphitheater which has 4,100 individual and
comfortable seats with backrests.
12
Krug Tours 715-748-3194
Back in Branson we will enjoy another performance featuring the Brett family.
This family delivers high energy, high-caliber professional entertainment.
Their unique and powerful Veterans tribute will touch the hearts of everyone.
Our afternoon entertainment will be at the Sight and Sound Theatre where
we will see the awe-inspiring and uplifting performance of Moses. We will
travel with Moses on his quest for personal identity that changes the course of
history. We’ll journey back in time as we witness the moment God first speaks
to Moses at the burning bush. We will experience God’s awe-inspiring power
as we sit in the midst of the parted Red Sea and feel the celebration of the
Israelites as they brush past us on their path to freedom.
We’ll enjoy one more exciting show with dinner before leaving Branson.
It! Starring the Hughes Brothers is a compilation of 30 years of show biz
excellence, wrapped up into a single incredible experience. It! is 50 amazing
singers, dancers, musicians, and performers who combine their astonishing
scope of talents to create the ultimate experience!
From Branson we’ll travel the short distance to Springfield, Missouri and
be introduced to a unique underground world and its natural splendor. The
Fantastic Caverns, America’s ride-through cave, lies beneath the rolling
Ozarks hills. The cave was discovered in 1862 but first explored in 1867 by
12 women from Springfield who answered a newspaper ad seeking explorers.
Their names remain on the cave wall today. Those first explorers had to use
ropes and ladders to enter the then-uncharted cave. Access to Fantastic
Caverns is far easier today. Jeep-drawn trams carry visitors on the one-mile
tour. While viewing the colorful formations along the well-lighted tour route,
we’ll learn about the relationship between cave life, groundwater and people.
Travelling toward home, we will enjoy our overnight accommodations at the
Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Maryland Heights, MO. The beautiful hotel is
connected to the casino and you only have to pass through the doors if you
wish to try your luck.

TASTE OF HOME &
GREENDALE TEST KITCHEN
Saturday, June 25
Greendale, Wisconsin
Taste of Home magazine is
an American cooking
publication, founded
by Roy Reiman. The
magazine was first
published in 1993.
It specializes in recipe
exchange and Midwestern cuisine.
The Greendale Visitor Center,
which was the birthplace of Reiman
Publications, is home to a one-of-akind cooking store which features Taste of Home discounted cookbooks,
gadgets galore and a working test kitchen. We will visit the Test Kitchen and
enjoy a Behind the Scenes tour which includes a personal tour with CJ, a
cooking experience, history of the Taste of Home Test Kitchens, a copy of the
top selling Cookie Book, and 20% off store coupon. Ladies love this, but men
are certainly welcome. Tasting is included.
Upon our arrival in Greendale, “the best blooming town in the country,” we
will enjoy a short historical tour. In the summer months, more than 40,000
flowers are planted annually along the downtown streets, in hanging baskets,
in sidewalk beds and storefront window boxes. Greendale’s history is unique.
This planned community is one of only three “Greenbelt Communities”
in the United States built by the Franklin Roosevelt Administration in
1936. The goal was to provide much needed jobs and better housing for
families. This wonderful Village was designed to look like an English Garden
Village and still resembles New England’s Williamsburg. Greendale also
has “backward houses.” The houses are situated very close to the street
and are set “backward,” with the living room at the rear of each house. The
architect purposely did this to allow the pioneer residents a better view and
appreciation of their large, picturesque backyards instead of the street. What
a wonderful concept!
Lunch will be included today at Ferch’s Malt Shoppe and Grille. At Ferch’s,
their main goal is to bring all of their customers back in time to when life
was simpler and more focused around family and community. Ferch’s evokes
a different era, with a soda fountain, marble counter, red swivel stools, tin
ceilings and a big Wurlitzer jukebox. There will also be a little free time for
shopping in Greendale’s unique shops and boutiques. Or, for those that don’t

TREASURE ISLAND CASINO
Tuesday, July 12 and Tuesday, October 4
Hudson, Wisconsin and Red Wing, Minnesota
Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet while cruising along the scenic St. Croix
and Mississippi Rivers to Treasure Island Casino in Welch, MN. This 3½ hour
cruise is the best way to see the river. The view is beautiful and ever changing. In addition to the bountiful scenic views, these rivers provide a haven
for wildlife near a major metropolitan area. We may have to wait for a draw
bridge or two along the way which gives us time to marvel at the engineering
behind them.
Upon our arrival at Treasure Island, each guest will receive $15.00 in slot
play. Treasure Island Casino is surrounded by picturesque views of rolling Minnesota prairies and the scenic bluffs of the Mississippi River Valley.
Inside is a Caribbean getaway filled with thousands of slots, row upon row of

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
Wednesday, July 20
The Palace Theater
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
On December 4, 1956, a twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis,
Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley to Memphis’ Sun Records. The rock’n’roll
musical Million Dollar Quartet was inspired by this famed recording session
- the first and only collaboration between these legendary icons, each
of whom had an undeniable influence on American music. This thrilling
production takes us inside the studio with the four major talents who came
together as a red-hot band for one unforgettable night and features such
enduring hits as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Great
Balls of Fire” and “Hound Dog.” A hit on Broadway, Million Dollar Quartet
was nominated for 2010 Tony and Drama Desk Awards.
New owners Anthony and Joseph feel the Palace Theater is a unique place
and because they want it to be the best, they invested $1 million in a new
state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. This 796-seat theater has dinner
tables that are on risers so every seat in the house is a great one. A custommade Brazilian mahogany bar and lounge area were added for customers to
hang out and enjoy a cocktail before or after the show. Anthony and Joseph
have been in the restaurant business for years and had produced “Tony n’
Tina’s Wedding” for 18 years in Chicago. They know theater and they love
groups.

NIAGARA FALLS
Saturday, July 23 - Thursday, July 28
Niagara Falls, Ontario
This exciting tour to Niagara Falls is sure to be the highlight of your summer.
There is something about Niagara Falls that appeals to the lover, daredevil
and poet in everyone. Over the years Niagara Falls has been many things - a
strategic military post, a prosperous trade center, a seedy carnival town but never has it ceased to be a natural wonder, mesmerizing travelers from
around the world.
Upon our arrival in Niagara Falls, Ontario, we will don ponchos and board
the Hornblower (formerly Maid of the Mist) where we can choose to stand
on the deck or in the dry sheltered part of the boat. The full magnificence
of the two falls can best be experienced on the deck. The boat will enter the
Horseshoe Basin and pass directly in front of the falls. We will check in at the
Travelodge Fallsview Hotel which will be our accommodations for the next
three nights. Dinner will be enjoyed at the Elements Restaurant in front of
the Falls. Following dinner we will thrill to the Imax Theatre presentation of
“Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic,” the story of Niagara and its daredevils
as seen on Canada’s largest movie screen which will introduce us to what can
and/or shouldn’t be tried.
Our Monday will be spent with a local tour guide as we travel along the
lower Niagara River to Niagara-on-the-Lake. This is a Colonial Village and
Upper Canada’s first capital. Often called the loveliest town in Ontario,
Niagara-on-the-Lake, has a long and distinguished history. A visit and wine
tasting at River View Cellars is included. This small family owned winery and
staff are committed to providing warm and courteous service and excellent
wines. A 3 course luncheon at a Vintage Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake will
be included today. There will be some free time given to browse and shop
in the village. Perhaps you would like to walk a few blocks and gaze over to
Toronto, 40 miles across the lake. Our evening will be spent at our leisure to
walk to the Falls, the casino or enjoy the amenities at the Hotel. By night, the
Falls take on a breathtaking but different look. A series of rotating colored
spotlights shine upon the cascading waters, providing a multitude of visual
opportunities for photographs.
Tuesday will be another day of touring in the area with stops to include the
Whirlpool and Cable Car and the beautiful botanical gardens as well as the
Floral Clock. This unique attraction is photographed almost as often as the
Falls. The intricate designs on the face of the timepiece are created with up
to 16,000 carpet bedding plants. The floral design is changed twice each year,
featuring viola in the Spring and four cultivars of Alternanthera along with
green and grey forms of Santolina Sage during the Summer and Fall. The
grounds surrounding the clock feature bedding displays and a tower at the
18
Krug Tours 715-748-3194
back of the clock houses Westminster chimes that greet each quarter hour.
Some free time will be allowed this afternoon for you to enjoy the area of
Clifton Hill or relax before our evening dinner in the Summit Suite, the NonRevolving Dining room in the Skylon Tower. The dining rooms are 775 feet
above the Falls. The Ride-to-the-Top and indoor/outdoor observation decks
are included in our evening.
After a delicious breakfast we will say farewell to Niagara Falls and begin our
travels back to Wisconsin. There will be plenty of time to reminisce with our
travelling friends and perhaps plan for the next tour.

LAMBEAU FIELD &
PACKER HALL OF FAME
Wednesday, August 17
Green Bay, Wisconsin
Green Bay is the smallest city to host a
National Football League team. Founded in
1919, the 13-time National Champion Green
Bay Packers are the only NFL team to be
owned by its fans.
Our day will include a tour of Lambeau Field,
the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, the
Packers Pro Shop and a buffet lunch.
The stadium tour is an hour long, half-mile walking tour. Our tour will
go from the Harlan Plaza, where the statues of Curly Lambeau and Vince
Lombardi reside, through the Atrium, up to the Club Level for an exclusive
look at the private boxes, club seats and the Legends Club, to the hallowed
turf of football’s most famous gridiron. Tour routes are subject to change
based on stadium operations.
The relocated and renovated Hall of Fame is 25,000 square feet of pure
Packers adrenaline where we will see, touch and feel over 80 years of riveting
history. There are 77 exhibits featuring Packers fans, the Ice Bowl, the four
Super Bowl trophies, plaques of all the members of the Packers Hall of Fame,
today’s team, and even a re-creation of Vince Lombardi’s office. Still photos
are welcome, but video cameras are not allowed on the field tour or in the
Hall of Fame.
Time is planned to visit the Packers Pro Shop which is located in the
Lambeau Field Atrium. This two-story shop with over 2,000 individual
items is a unique place to simply visit. The Pro Shop has a refurbished 1957
Packers Chevy pickup on display, along with authentic helmets from all 32
NFL teams and framed, authentic jerseys from some of the team’s Hall of
Famers.
In 2015, the Packers had a public practice day during this week. We watched
the Packers ride local children’s bikes from Lambeau Field to the practice
field. The 2016 practice schedule is not out yet, but if there is a public
practice, we will take time to watch the players make the ride.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Wednesday, August 31
Chanhassen, Minnesota
The Chanhassen Dinner Theatre is once again bringing to their stage
another Broadway hit - Beauty and the Beast. Beauty ran on Broadway
for 5,461 performances between 1994 and 2007, becoming Broadway’s
ninth longest-running production in history. You don’t want to miss this
enchanting tale. In Beauty and the Beast, a prince harshly turns a beggar
woman away from shelter in his castle. She is secretly an enchantress,
who, angered by the prince’s lack of compassion, changes the prince into a
hideous Beast and all the castles’ human inhabitants into living objects. The
enchantress tells the Beast that before the last petal falls from an enchanted
rose, he must find true love or all will remain forever altered. Not far from
the castle, in a small village, Belle lives with her father Maurice, an inventor.
Belle is seen as odd by all but Gaston, a handsome yet highly egotistical man,
who wants to marry her. Belle’s father gets lost in the woods and stumbles
upon the Beast’s castle where he is welcomed by the walking, talking
clock and candlestick. However, when the Beast discovers him, he is taken
captive. When Belle finds out, she rushes to his aid and trades her freedom
for her father’s. The Beast is harsh at first, but eventually the two develop
something deeper. “Tale as old as time. Song as old as rhyme. Beauty and the
Beast.”
A delicious lunch will be included at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre prior to
the performance of Beauty and the Beast.

AGAWA CANYON TOUR TRAIN
& MACKINAC ISLAND
Wednesday, October 5 - Saturday, October 8
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and St. Ignace, Michigan
This fall color tour to the beautiful area of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and
Canada and Mackinaw Island is a tour where we step back in time to when rail
travel was the norm and luxury was expected.
Our tour begins as we travel on Wednesday to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Our
evening will be filled as we enjoy a leisurely, scenic dinner cruise on the bustling
St. Mary’s River and view the Soo Locks, which have been referred to as one of
the great wonders of the world and is still the largest waterway traffic system
on earth. Our overnight accommodations are at the beautiful Kewadin Casinos
Hotel in Sault Ste. Marie. Gambling is not mandatory but certainly available.
Thursday will be a day to sit back and enjoy all that is beautiful in this area.
The Agawa Canyon Tour Train will take us from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (you
will need a passport to cross the border into Canada) through the magnificent
scenery along the route that is said to rival that in the Canadian Rockies to
beautiful Agawa Canyon. The Agawa Canyon is a shallow canyon located deep
in the sparsely populated Algoma District. The Canyon is only accessible by
hiking trail or the Algoma Central Railway. The rail reaches its destination 114
miles northwest of the city, where a two-hour stop-over provides us with the
opportunity to photograph the many waterfalls and rocky cliffs. At their highest
point, the walls of the Agawa Canyon rise 575 feet above the river. You may
climb to the outlook or just relax in the fine natural park beside the Agawa River.
Breakfast and lunch are served on the train.
On Friday we will experience a
morning ferry ride from Mackinaw
City to Mackinac Island where a horse
drawn carriage will meet us for a very
informative and entertaining tour
around the island by experienced
drivers. Following our tour, our driver
will drop us off at the magnificent
Grand Hotel where we will enjoy a
delicious and elegant lunch. There
will be plenty of free time to explore
the Grand Hotel, shops and grounds
before boarding our horse drawn taxi
for the trip back to the dock area. We
will have some free time in this area

DOOR COUNTY SIGHTSEEING
AND WINERIES
DOOR PENINSULA WINERY, MEYER THEATRE,
AL JOHNSON’S RESTAURANT AND FISH BOIL
Friday, October 14 - Sunday, October 16
Green Bay, Sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay, Wisconsin
Door County has a rich history surrounding the water and land that make up
the peninsula and islands. It’s also steeped in the stories of the first people
to arrive in the area, including Native Americans and European settlers who
fell in love with the beauty and natural bounty of the country. The settlers,
named the communities and though they didn’t know it at the time, started
much of the unique culture that visitors appreciate so much today.
Our weekend begins with a stop at the Kerrigan Brothers Winery which
produces natural fruit wines using a wide range of local Wisconsin grown
fruit; cherries from Door County, cranberries from Merrill and apples from
Appleton. We will enjoy sampling some of their delicious wines and have
time to browse their gift shop before heading into Green Bay for our evening.
Dinner and theater - what
a great combination! Our
evening entertainment
will be at the beautiful
and historic Meyer
Theatre where we will
enjoy “Rattle those Pots
& Pans, Mirro Style.” The
Manitowoc-based Mirro
Company manufactured
the newest invention in
cooking - the “pressure
cooker.” Let’s just say that the workers on the assembly line had to deal with
a few “pressure cookers” of their own. Our overnight accommodations will
be at the Country Inn & Suites in Green Bay.
Saturday morning will have us travelling the short distance up the “thumb”
of Wisconsin and Door County. Our first stop will be at the Simon Creek
Vineyard and Winery. Simon Creek Winery is the most modern winery and
largest vineyard in Wisconsin. Winery tours feature a complete review of
the winemaking process from harvest through bottling and casing. The tour

ends at the taste room overlooking the wine production area and best of
all - the vineyard and beautiful pond. The equipment in this technologically
advanced winery has all been imported from Italy. A large area and outdoor
terrace will accommodate us as we sample the finest vinifera and hybrid
wines.
From Sturgeon Bay we will travel to Sister Bay and have a little free time to
browse the shops in this historic yet modern town before enjoying lunch
at the famous Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant with the goats on the roof.
Unique shops in the area include The Cook Book Kitchen Store, On Deck
Clothing, and Pipkas.
From lunch we will enjoy a scenic cruise of the area around Sister Bay. Door
County has a rich nautical history and Shoreline Charters has Captains and
crews that know the waters and love to share the waters with tourists.
Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery and Market will be our next stop
while in Door County. Since 1955, the Lautenbach’s have been producing
quality fruit products in Door County. The 100 acre family estate is home
to a winery, cider mill and market. The winery resides in a restored dairy
barn, producing most of its award-winning wines from fruits grown on the
property. Estate-grown fruits include cherries, apples, grapes, raspberries,
and pears. Styles of wine offered for tasting and purchase, range from dry to
sweet, pure fruit and grape varietals, sparkling and spiced.
Our evening will feature a unique Door County Fish Boil. The Door County
cooking method, started by Scandinavian settlers more than a century ago,
remains popular today. The Fish Boil begins with a huge black pot of fresh
whitefish, potatoes and onions that bubble and hiss over an open fire. When
the fish is done, a Master Boiler tosses a small amount of fuel oil or kerosene
under the pot. A burst of flames causes the water and floating fish oils to boil
over, and the steaming meal is ready to serve.
Our overnight accommodations
will be at the historic Lodge at
Leathem Smith located only
steps away from the beautiful
waters of Lake Michigan
and Sturgeon Bay and is the
epitome of a lavish getaway.
Saving the best for last, the
Door Peninsula Winery will be
our destination on Sunday. For
32
Krug Tours 715-748-3194
40 years, Door Peninsula Winery has been a mainstay of the Door County
economy, producing the finest and largest selection of wines in Wisconsin.
The winery’s initial products were made from locally grown fruit and because
the county had been famous for its cherries, cherry wine was a natural
starting point, with apple, strawberry and plum wines following. Door
Peninsula Winery still offers a variety of products made with these original
four fruits and has also expanded the range of wines to include other fruits
such as mango, blackberry, pears and grapes. Since the winery first opened in
1974 in a former two-room schoolhouse, it has been expanded three times.
The third expansion was made to accommodate Door County Distillery.
Here, several varieties of vodka as well as gin, whisky, brandy and bitters are
made and sold. The gift shop features many oils that you can taste before
purchasing and many wine inspired gifts and articles of clothing. In 2013,
Krug Tours visited the Door Peninsula Winery and filled the luggage bays
with many cases of wine that were found to be favorites of most travelers.
The owners of the winery say, “We
don’t just make this stuff for fun, we
make it for you.” The winery is a fun
place to visit!
As we travel back to Medford, we can
decide which wine we found to be our
absolute favorite, which winery we
need to visit again and perhaps who
drank the most wine on the tour!

tour of Graceland allows you to learn more about any exhibit that you see,
whether it’s the living room, dining room, his mother’s bedroom, the Jungle
room, the kitchen, the TV room, the pool room, the trophy building, the
racquetball building or the Meditation Garden. You can spend extra time at
any area without disrupting others on the tour. The mansion embodies the
American Dream – a poor small town boy who reached super stardom and
changed pop culture and the world forever. The Meditation Garden is where
Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest. Even if you aren’t
an Elvis fan, you will appreciate all that he accomplished in his lifetime. An
interesting tidbit is that the family still gets together in the mansion for
special events.
From Graceland we will travel the short distance to where Elvis first began
his legendary career. The tour is fun and historic. We will stand in the same
room where, on December 4, 1956, a twist of fate brought Johnny Cash,
Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley to the studio and their famed
recording session. Dubbed The Million Dollar Quartet, the recording was first
released in Europe in 1981, four years after Elvis’ death.
Dinner will be included at King’s Palace with some free time to listen to
the Blues on Beale Street before we enjoy an evening tour with a BackBeat
musician. This musical tour is conducted by a professional Beale Street
musician who will play and sing selections from the city’s rich musical
heritage, while entertaining us with comedy, history and behind-the-scenes
stories of some famous Memphis personalities.
Another stop in Memphis will be at the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. This is the
only museum that tells the complete story of Memphis music history, as
34
Krug Tours 715-748-3194
researched by the Smithsonian Institution. This museum tells of the musical
pioneers and legends of all racial and socio-economic backgrounds who,
for the love of music, overcame obstacles to create the musical sound that
changed the world.
Our last, and I think the most influential attraction on our tour, will be
at the National Civil Rights Museum. This amazing museum offers 260
artifacts, more than 40 new films, oral histories, interactive media and
external listening posts that guide us through five centuries of history –
from the beginning of the resistance during slavery, through the Civil War
and Reconstruction, the rise of Jim Crow, and the seminal events of the late
20th century that inspired people around the world to stand up for equality.
These unforgettable exhibits are set in the Lorraine Hotel, where Rev. Martin
Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. There are not enough words to describe
the feelings you will have during this self paced tour. This is a very powerful
museum experience!
Leaving the Blues behind we will travel to the Music City of Nashville,
where music has been the common thread connecting the life and soul of
the city and its people. Upon our arrival, we will check into the Gaylord
Opryland Hotel, a more expensive property, but an attraction in itself
and one we believe you will take pleasure in. A guided tour of the hotel
will introduce us to the history and layout so we can fully enjoy our time
there. Dinner on Honky Tonk Highway will be included at Margaritaville
with some free time to explore this historic area which includes Tootsie’s
Orchid Lounge, with its backdoor to the Ryman Auditorium. We will tour
the Ryman Auditorium with its new media presentation that will give us
a very informative and entertaining look at the history of the auditorium
and Captain Tom Ryman. This beautiful “Mother Church of Country Music,”
was home of the Grand Ole Opry beginning in 1943 and is more beautiful
today than it was when it was built in 1892. We will experience the Grand
Ole Opry at the new Opryhouse on Friday evening. The Opry is the longestrunning radio broadcast with 90 years under its belt and showing no signs
of slowing down. Members
and guests of the Grand Ole
Opry are a distinguished and
talented list. The line up isn’t
published until the week
of the Opry, depending on
which performers are in the
area at the time. We will be
treated to a behind the scenes
tour of the Grand Ole Opry
following the show.
A special treat while in
Nashville will be the RCA

Studio B “Star for a Day” tour and recording. More than 35,000 songs were
brought to life by the Studio B magic, including more than 1,000 American
hits, 40 million-selling singles, and over 200 Elvis Presley recordings. From the
tour, we will have the expertise of a local step-on guide to show us some very
interesting spots in Nashville along with the history that might not be written
in history books. A stop will be made at the Parthenon, a full-scale replica of
the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece that was built in 1897 as part of the
Tennessee Centennial Exposition. Beautiful on the outside and exceptional
on the inside, the Parthenon stands
as the centerpiece of Centennial Park.
Continuing with special treats today
will be lunch at the world-famous
Wildhorse Saloon where we will have
an opportunity to do some line dancing
or just enjoy the music.
Our last stop before leaving Nashville
will be at the Country Music Hall
of Fame and Museum. Called the “Smithsonian of country music” because
of its unrivaled collection, the museum recently unveiled a $100 million
expansion, doubling its size to 350,000 square feet of dynamic state-of-theart galleries, archival storage, education classrooms, retail stores, and special
event space. In the museum’s core exhibition, Sing Me Back Home: A Journey
Through Country Music, we will be immersed in the history and sounds of
country music, its origins and traditions, and the stories and voices of many
of its honored architects. The mission of the Country Music Hall of Fame
and Museum is to collect, preserve, and interpret the evolving history and
traditions of country music. The museum teaches its diverse audiences about
the enduring beauty and cultural importance of country music.
As we travel back to Wisconsin and home, we will have time to reminisce
about our time in two of Tennessee’s most beautiful and entertaining cities.

CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES IN
RISE UP, O MEN
Wednesday, November 2

“Rise Up, O Men” is a brand new musical featuring the men of the church

happens when you let roosters in the hen house!
The Plymouth Playhouse is an intimate 211 seat theatre with comfortable
and roomy seating. The rows are tiered. There are no visual obstructions and
the furthest seats from the stage are only 25 feet back. All performers have
individual microphones so hearing is not a problem.

BRANSON AT CHRISTMASTIME
Starring the Oak Ridge Boys and Daniel O’Donnell
Tuesday, November 8 - Sunday, November 13
Branson, Missouri
Branson is the undisputed “live music show capital of the world,” with over
100 live shows performing daily! Branson is host to 3 beautiful lakes, 12
championship golf courses, an international award-winning theme park,
dozens of museums and attractions and a historical downtown district.
Our focus for this tour to Branson will be the beautiful and entertaining
Christmas music shows. During this wonderful time of the year, the hotels,
theaters and townspeople all come together to produce the Branson Area
Festival of Lights and Christmas Celebration.
Prior to our arrival in Branson, we will enjoy a relaxing evening at the Shrine
of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois. Dinner and our overnight
accommodations will be at the Shrine.
Lambert’s Café in Springfield, also known as the Home of the Throwed Rolls
is a restaurant known for its homestyle cooking, “pass arounds,” and its
“throwed” dinner rolls. This lunch stop is an attraction in itself.
The shows we will see in Branson are a mix of traditional country music and
down home entertainment and new and dynamic musical numbers with
unforgettable dance.
Dixie Stampede Christmas Dinner Show at Dixie Stampede is a unique
dinner experience. Celebrate A Christmas tradition as Dixie transforms
into a holiday celebration including a live Nativity, with three kings atop
camels, holiday music, a visit from Santa and a 4 course yuletide feast.
Presenting the bright musical fantasy, “The Magic of Toys,” this performance
is highlighted by a stunning aerial display and set to the unforgettable music
of the Nutcracker.
Long before Highway 76 became
America’s lighted boulevard of
family entertainment and long
before Branson became known
as the Live Music Capital of the
World, there were the Presleys.
They were an Ozark’s family who
played the underground stages
of the Missouri hills. Folks from
all over would pack the caves
to hear their legendary family
performances. So many, in fact,
38
Krug Tours 715-748-3194
the caverns couldn’t hold ‘em anymore. So the Presleys left the caves and
bought themselves a piece of land out on an isolated two-lane stretch of
asphalt just outside of town. Wasn’t long after that when their show opened
in a brand new theater. It was Branson’s original country music theater. The
Presleys were a smash hit. People from across the country lined up every
night for a chance to hear the country and gospel music the Presleys loved
to perform. To this day, with four generations of Presleys, they continue to
perform the music they have all grown up with and loved.
Maxine’s Christmas Carol is the Maxine from Hallmark Cards and is
the self-appointed “Queen of Crabbiness.” Maxine will star in “Maxine’s
Christmas Carol,” a twist on Charles Dickens’ classic holiday story, “A
Christmas Carol.” This live-action musical is giving us the full Maxine
treatment and will feature ghosts, songs, plenty of attitude, and even
Maxine’s dog Floyd!
Puttin’ on the Ritz Holiday with
Dino at the King’s Castle Theatre
is scheduled for our afternoon
entertainment. This show brings the
magnificent glamour of yesteryear
to the stage featuring the wonderful
classical music of George Gershwin,
Irving Berlin, and Cole Porter and dance
numbers reminding you of the days
of Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Judy
Garland! The show is topped off with Dino Kartsonakis and his wife Cheryl,
for a wonderful song and dance extravaganza.
The Oak Ridge Boys are an American country and gospel vocal quartet. The
group has been producing hit music since 1973 and is well known for their
four-part harmonies. Whether you enjoy newer hits, or the ever popular
Elvira, the Oak Ridge Boys present a fun time for the entire family.
Red, Hot… & Blue Christmas at the Clay Cooper Theatre will start our
Friday morning with a musical celebration and a time-traveling production
that includes songs from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. This is one of
Branson’s favorite morning shows and will take us on a journey with timeless
melodies plus some exciting new numbers to make lasting memories.
Daniel O’Donnell Holiday at the beautiful Welk Resort. His show will
include a rich blend of Irish ballads, American country music and standards,
gospel songs, and easy listening favorites. Daniel O’Donnell is a truly gifted
performer who is genuinely loved by many fans all over the world.
Our final show in Branson will be at the Andy Williams Performing Arts
Center and is called the Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular. The

legacy of Andy Williams continues as The Osmonds and The Lennon Sisters,
along with special guest stars and some of Andy’s favorite holiday visitors
(including Cookie Bear) perform and carry on a tradition they’ve been a part
of since the early days with Andy.
As we leave Branson
and travel back to
Wisconsin, we will
enjoy an evening
at the Lakeside
Hotel and Casino
in Osceola, Iowa.
The delicious buffet
is included this
evening. If the slots
or tables are not of
interest, their indoor
pool and hot tub are always inviting.
Christmas has a very special meaning for all of us. It is a holiday built around
the concept of the family. What began with Mary and Joseph and the infant
Jesus in the manger - the sentiments of togetherness and love - has spread
over the centuries to millions of homes. The families in Branson certainly
convey that concept of family togetherness and love. Please spread the good
news this Christmas holiday brings with your family.

Based on the book by Valentine Davies
and the holiday classic movie of the
same name, MIRACLE ON 34TH
STREET tells a joyous and heartwarming story. In this Christmas
classic, an old man going by the
name of Kris Kringle fills in for
an intoxicated Santa in Macy’s
annual Thanksgiving Day parade.
Kringle proves to be such a hit that he is soon appearing regularly at the
chain’s main store in midtown Manhattan. When Kringle surprises customers
and employees alike by claiming that he really is Santa Claus, it leads to a court
case to determine his mental health and, more importantly, his authenticity.
Miracle on 34th Street spreads a wave of love across New York City and
the Palace Theater that is sure to melt even the most cynical hearts. This
production includes such beloved songs as “Silent Night,” “It’s Beginning to Look

POLAR EXPRESS &
WISCONSIN STATE CAPITOL
Saturday, December 3
Madison and Middleton, Wisconsin
All aboard THE POLAR
EXPRESS train ride! Believe
the magic this holiday
season!
The Polar Express comes to
the Wisconsin & Southern
Railroad, recreated to match
all the sights and sounds of
the beloved story. Picture
the excitement of children
dressed in pajamas with
golden tickets clutched in their hands as they board the train and prepare to
embark on their journey to the North Pole. Adults are encouraged to wear
their pajamas as well.
The story begins when the conductor calls “All aboard!” and punches
children’s golden tickets. Each guest will hear the sounds of the motion
picture soundtrack as the story reading begins and the book’s characters
come to life. Dancing chefs will serve hot cocoa and cookies to all riders in
a merry fashion as the doubting hobo wanders through the train. The train
stops where children will behold the magic of the North Pole from their
warm train seats. With a jolly “Ho, ho, ho” Santa waves to everyone and
climbs aboard where he will greet each child and present them with the
iconic silver sleigh bell (only believers can hear it ringing). Christmas carols
will be sung as we return to the station after a memorable ride that will set
the tone for the whole Christmas season.
Prior to our journey to the North Pole, we will tour the Wisconsin State
Capitol and enjoy a very child friendly walking tour with an informed guide.
The fossils in one of the rooms and many hallways are a fun “seek and find”
time for the younger ones. The observation areas require some stairs and are
open dependant on the weather. The climb is worth the view!
During the Christmas season, the Wisconsin State Capitol Tree graces the
rotunda. Typically a forty-foot Wisconsin grown Balsam Fir is selected. Each
year, the tree is decorated with approximately 700 feet of gold garland, 2,400
multicolored lights and 1,400 handmade ornaments donated by Wisconsin
citizens and students. There is not a more beautiful Capitol than our very
own Wisconsin State Capitol.

Personal note: We took our
grandchildren on this tour as
a family “mystery” outing and
they liked the Capitol as much
as, if not more than the Polar
Express, which I thought was
amazing.
We will enjoy a child friendly
pizza dinner buffet in between
the Capitol tour and the Polar
Express.

CLAUSON FAMILY MUSIC SHOW
Christmas on the Farm
Wednesday, December 7
Coloma, Wisconsin
CHRISTMAS SEASON STARTS EARLIER EVERY YEAR!
Christmas on the Farm is filled with holiday music sure to
put you in the Christmas spirit! The Clauson family with
their banjos, guitars, pianos, fiddles, drums, musical saw, steel
guitar, string bass, accordion and exceptional voices have
found the perfect blend of great music, exciting routines,
hilarious comedy and fabulous costuming to make their
Christmas show a very memorable experience.
The delectable dinner served buffet style prior to the
show is prepared in their full kitchen located in the
lower level of the barn.
The Clausons purchased the farm in 1991 which
included the house that had been vacant for many
years. The barn, now home to their music show was built
between 1890 and 1891. When you visit you can see the
year 1891 on an interior wall where it was originally stamped. The original
character of the barn remains, but skillful removal of posts and beams makes
every seat in the theatre a great one. The barn is handicap accessible and
both heated and air conditioned for the comfort of their guests.
In the lower level there is an antique milking parlor exhibit, complete with
stanchions and names of memorable cows. The barn also contains a gift
shoppe. The Milk House, set right next to the barn, provides for yet another
shopping stop. Adorned with seasonal items, the restored Milk House is also
an interesting place to visit.
