Q1 2016
start your year off right!
How was your holiday season? We know that the holidays are all about
spending time with family and friends, but who doesn’t love a good present
or two? Sparky was super excited this year because Santa and his reindeer filled his
stocking with lots of treats and toys, a great ‘pugly’ Christmas sweater and even a
great big bone to chew on!
Sparky and Smokey talked about all the gifts they got this year and started thinking
about how much they all must have cost. They decided that 2016 was going to be a
year of saving, and they came up with some tips on how to accomplish that goal.
Tips to Make 2016 a Year of Saving:
•
•
•
Save a little bit at a time. It’s a lot easier to save money if you do it a little bit at a time
instead of trying to save all at once. Try to save a little bit each month—it will really
add up by the end of the year.
M
ake Smokey the piggy bank your saving partner!
Firefighters Community Credit Union (FFCCU)
will match up to $5.00 when you fill up and bring
Smokey into any FFCCU branch.* You can bring
Smokey in once per month. If you do that every
month, that’s an extra $60 a year. Sparky’s tail is
wagging just thinking about that extra money!
W
hen you get money as a present for your
birthday or for a special occasion, don’t spend
all of it right away—save some, too!
*One (1) match per youth account member per month. Matches will be made up to $5. Offer may be cancelled at any time.
Hey there!
Smokey and I had an awesome
year in 2015. How about you?
Some of my favorite memories
from last year were our
Members Only Tour, celebrating
International Credit Union Day on
October 15th (I love cookies!), and
seeing so many of you bring your
piggy banks in!
2016 is going to be great because
FFCCU is celebrating its 80th
birthday! Can you believe we’ve
been helping members save since
1936? That’s amazing!
Don’t forget your “piggyback”
match.* Let’s make 2016 a year
of saving!
