More than just bus trips
We are pleased to present you with the 2013 travelways Student Learning experience
Planner, your essential guide to excursion planning.
Travelways provides a service to Primary and
Secondary schools throughout Australia. We
specialise in assisting School Groups and
Teachers with their excursion planning.
Our aim is to provide students with a fun
educational learning experience. Taking students
on an excursion with Travelways can be a
pleasant and enjoyable experience with the
assistance from the Travelways team.
Travelways conducted its first one-day excursion
in 1962. Some schools have chosen Travelways
as their preferred excursion coordinators for
more than 25 years.
During this time, we have received numerous
letters from schools complimenting the quality
and value of our service and their experience.
The Travelways team has extensive
knowledge of tourism in Australia specialising
in the Snowy Mountains, Bathurst, Hill End,
Canberra, the Blue Mountains and the South
Coast Old Mogo Town.

caravan parks and we know with whom to talk
and how to prepare your itinerary according to

SEE THE HIGH COURT IN ACTION
The High Court of Australia is the highest court in the Australian judicial system. The Court hears appeals from Federal, State and
Territory courts on all areas of law and is the final court of appeal for the nation. The High Court also adjudicates on disputes over
whether particular laws passed by Parliament comply with Australia’s Constitution.The Court sitting calendar is at www.hcourt.gov.au.
The High Court welcomes all students, but those in Year 5 and above will benefit most from a visit.
TOUR THE BUILDING
The building is open to the public and visiting school groups from 9.45am to 4.30pm daily and noon to 4pm Sundays. Groups are asked
to book via the Court’s on-line booking system accessible on www.hcourt.gov.au. A typical tour takes 45 minutes and includes an
overview of the history, role and powers of the High Court, as well as an explanation of the workings of the courtrooms visited.Tours of the
artworks and hands-on art activities are also available. Shorter tours can be arranged by talking to the Court Guide Supervisor.Tours are
best booked for between 10:00am and 3:30pm.On non-sitting days,photographs may be taken inside the building.The High Court’s website

Students have the opportunity to follow the steps of Blaxland, Wentworth
and Lawson, the first Europeans to cross the Blue Mountains. Visit the
convict built Lennox Bridge at Lapstone and further west in Katoomba
along the Great Western Highway view the famous Explorers’ Marked Tree,
now caged in and sheltered to protect the remains. The tree has the initials
of famous explorers dated 1813. Explore Katoomba’s early beginnings at

The Somerville Collection is the lifetime
work of Warren Somerville and features
some of the finest and rarest examples
of minerals and fossils in the world. The
specimens currently on display in the
Museum represent about one quarter
of the total collection. Highlights from
the mineral collection include crystals
from over 100 Australian mine sites, the
world’s largest rhodonite gem crystals,
2,000 million years old garnets, rainbowcoloured fluorites from China, as well as
diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds
and other gems from around the world.

skeleton, Australia’s largest collection

Deposit: a $550.00 deposit is required to confirm your booking. BOOKINGS ARE MADE ONCE A DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Dates of your excursion must be provided with your deposit. A minimum of three (3) date options are required.
If venues are unavailable, a suitable alternative will be provided.
The seating on the coaches provided will be adequate for your final numbers travelling.
Final Numbers: These numbers should not be increased, although we endeavour to be flexible.
Cancellation Fee: A cancellation fee per student will apply once final numbers are advised.
Teacher’s accommodation is sharing rooms with teachers (same sex) of the same school.
