All classes & lines, including enduro. Fresh sections, some in the shade of the tall pines!

Three routes to The Piutes
Jawbone Canyon Road
• 150 miles, 3 hr 50 min from LA
• 25 miles of Jawbone Canyon Road is not paved but
easily passable for big rigs
• Deep sand in some places - heavy trailers benefit
from 4-wheel drive tow vehicle
• Detailed route : I-5 North, right at Mojave, stay on 14
North, just past jawbone Canyon Store take a left on
Jawbone Canyon Road, right at “county Access Road
- Kelso Valley”
Valley , right at intersection after dropping
into Kelso Valley, all the way to Sageland (2 mile
section of pavement right before Sageland), turn left
at Piute Mountain Road, go 7 miles to intersection of
Sorrell Peak/Piute Mountain Road

• Paved except for last 7 miles (Piute Mountain Road)
• Walker Pass @ 5200’ is significant climb & descent
• Detailed route: I-5 North, right at Mojave, stay on 14
North, left at Hwyy 178 toward Weldon/Lake Isabella,
past Onyx take a left on Kelso Creek Road (turns into
Kelso Valley Road) to Sageland, right on Piute
Mountain Road, go 7 miles to intersection of Sorrell
Peak/Piute Mountain Road
• Piute Mountain Road switchbacks are relatively easy,
but need to be taken slow, some bumps near the top
& a few overhanging branches
Hwy 99, thru Bakersfield & Kern River Canyon
• 195 miles, 4 hr 12 min from LA
• Paved except for last 7 miles (Piute Mountain Road)

• Detailed route: I-5 North to 99 North, thru Bakersfield
to hwy 178 toward Lake Isabella, go thru the Kern
River Canyon then Lake Isabella, go right around the
lake, right on S. Kelso Valley Road to Sageland, right
on Piute Mountain Road, go 7 miles to intersection of
Sorrell Peak/Piute Mountain Road
• Watch for oncoming traffic on Piute Mountain Road
