Directions: 1. Starting at Hummel Road in Renfro Valley take HWY 25S (go straight at McDonald’s) which turns into to HWY 461S to HWY 80 (towards Somerset), approximately 19.5 miles. 2. At HWY 80 go left/East towards London. Travel about 27.7 miles. 3. In London, take HWY 25 North/left to Livingston (approximately 16 miles from London). 4. At the Livingston HWY 490 bridge take a right to cross the bridge and then left on HWY 1955 (Red Hill Road) to HWY 1912. 5. When HWY 1955 ends, go right on HWY 1912 to HWY 421 (Big Hill Road). Kenny’s Farm Store will be on the right. 6. Turn left (HWY 421/Big Hill Road) and go to HWY 21 West towards the City of Berea. 7. Take 1617 South/left. Continue 2 miles staying left on 1617, also known as Scaffold Cane Road. 8. Road ends at HWY 25 (Wilderness Road) – go left towards Renfro Valley Big Hill Welcome Center Alternate return to Renfro Valley from Berea (if you decide to go into town and shop or eat). 21W ends at Chestnut Street in Berea. Take a left towards I-75. At HWY 25 South make left towards Renfro Valley. Sinking Valley Winery Short Creek Cave - After turning onto HWY 80 travel about 3 miles. Look for yellow sign with fire truck and sign that says Stab Community. Take a right and go past fire department. Take a right on Short Creek Road (½ mile past fire department) and go to the bottom of the hill. Cave on right.) Wildcat Mountain Civil War Battlefield Rockcastle River Trading Company Lil’s Restaurant in Livingston Red Hill Stagecoach Inn Big Hill Welcome Center Road Trip #2 (Red) - 70 miles This loop will take you on winding roads that are deeply forested on each side. Directions: 1. Starting from Hummel Road in Renfro Valley take HWY 25S (turn left at McDonalds Restaurant). You will be driving into Mt. Vernon. 2. At juncture of HWY 25 and HWY 150 go straight onto Sand Springs Road. Sand Springs will take you to HWY 1249 (about 7 miles) go left. 3. HWY 1249 takes you to HWY 1956, go left and cross Rockcastle River bridge. 4. Follow HWY 1956 to HWY 80, go left and cross I75 to HWY 25N and go left. 5. At Livingston take a right on the HWY 490 bridge and left on HWY 1955 (Red Hill Road) 6. Travel approximately 8 miles and turn left on Big Cave Road/HWY 1004 7. At HWY 1912 junction, turn left on bridge (HWY 1004) 8. Road ends at HWY 25, turn right and follow HWY 25N thru Mt. Vernon back to Renfro Valley. Points of Interest Wildcat Mountain Battlefield Rockcastle River Trading Company Lil’s Restaurant in Livingston Saltpeter Cave Jean’s Restaurant Road Trip #4 (Blue) - 75 miles This is a great hot summer day trip (actually anytime). The trees come right up to the road and provide a wonderful canopy of shade on HWY 89. At points you feel completely enveloped in nature. The road follows waterways most of the way to McKee. Some parts of the road are rough but this is worth a slow ride to enjoy the scenery. Directions: 1. Start at Hummel Road and take HWY 25S (follow the HWY 25S sign – left at McDonald’s and go through town. 2. At HWY 150 and HWY 25 stoplight, turn left to go to Livingston (approximately 9 miles). 3. In Livingston, turn left at the 490 bridge and turn right onto HWY 490. 4. At the juncture of HWY 490 and HWY 89, take 89 left towards McKee (DO NOT CROSS 490 IRON BRIDGE) 5. In just a few miles you will come to a single lane iron/wood bridge. Yes, you can cross it! 6. HWY 89 ends at HWY 421. Take 421North/left (about 38.9 miles) 7. At about 56 miles you will take 21 West/left towards Berea 8. 60 miles will bring you to 1617 South/left. Another 2 miles make sure you stay on 1617 by staying left. This road is also known as Scaffold Cane Road. 9. A few more miles you will end at HWY 25 (aka Wilderness Road) – go left towards Renfro Valley 10. Another 4 miles will bring you back to Hummel Road in Renfro Valley! Daniel Boone Recreation Area S-Tree Hooten Town Big Hill Welcome Center Double D Orchard Road Trip #5 (Black) - 117 miles This trip offers cruising through open farmland areas on the West and South legs. This is a more populated area ride with straight sections of road. Directions: 1. Start at Hummel Road, take 25N to HWY 1505 and turn left 2. Follow HWY 1505 South to HWY 150, go left 3. Take HWY 150 to HWY 70 South and go left/ South at HWY 39 (towards Somerset) 4. At 40 miles, go left on HWY 80 (towards London) 5.
