Marketplace Overview
►A total of 4,079 business aircraft changed hands the first nine months of this year compared to 4,018
for the same period in 2013, an increase of 61. New aircraft comprised 592 of the total transactions in
2014 while pre-owned jets and turboprops made up the remaining 3,487. Used aircraft accounted for
3,429 of the 2013 sales with new aircraft accounting for the remaining 589.
►The average days on market for the business jet fleet October 1, 2014, versus that date a year prior,
decreased by 15 from 509 to 494. This is a 24-day improvement from the previous quarter’s report.
Turboprops likewise continued to sell more quickly, lowering from 551 to 528 for an additional 27 day
improvement. This is on top of the 48 day decrease noted in the last issue.
►Across the business aircraft fleet, individual model Average Asking Prices ranged from an increase of
13.2 percent to a 34.7 percent decrease. While the increase was 2.8 percent less than the previous
quarter, the aircraft with a decrease in AAP improved 13.6 percent.
►Aircraft available for sale ranged from 26 fewer units (Bombardier Challenger 604) to 22 additional aircraft
(Gulfstream 550). Slightly over half of the models experienced an inventory decline while 35 percent
saw additional units come on to the market. Ten models had no change.
►Of the 83 business jet and turboprops included in these Market Briefings, 20 enjoyed an increase in
Average Asking Price. That is 10 additional models whose market value grew than was noted in the
Summer 2014 issue. Nevertheless, the market value per model declined an average of 6.6 percent over
the past year.
►The marketplace continues to defy accurate prediction by often moving contrary to what traditionally
is considered conventional inventory availability and price behavior. Somewhat more than one-third of
the models tracked had inventory and Average Asking Price increases and decreases in a manner that
supports traditional supply and demand economic theory. Yet half of the models experienced inventory
and market value moving in the same direction. Finally, 12 percent of the models saw no change in
aircraft availability but increases and decreases in Average Asking Price split nearly equally.

Beech Premier I
Synopsis
Hawker and Beech Branded Light Jets Experience
Mixed Market Values Changes.
The final look and feel of the new organization that
combines Cessna Citation, Beech and Hawker jets, and
Beech King Air Turboprops is taking shape. Each product
line at this point is maintaining its own brand, but now
all are under the Textron Aviation umbrella. Interestingly,
profit for the company was led by King Air.
As a segment, Hawker and Beech light jets saw total
market value increase. However, this was due primarily
to the Premier lA (+29.0%) and secondarily to the Hawker
400XP (+7.0%) having an increase in Average Asking
Price. The remaining three models recorded declines
ranging from five to 15 percent.
• Textron Aviation Hawker / Beech Light Jets Market Briefing - Fall 2014
For the period, this segment had 23 fewer aircraft on the
market. In keeping with the business aircraft marketplace
overall, the decline in aircraft for sale did not appear to
directly correlate to price. Even though the inventory
levels for all five models dropped, prices increased on
two but decreased on three.
