The Binion Family are proud to sponsor the 2013 Benny Binion’s
World Famous Bucking Horse and Bull Sale in honor of Benny
Binion.
Hopefully the Legacy of Benny Binion will live on in Las Vegas
and in the world of rodeo, as he was instrumental in bringing the
National Finals Rodeo to Las Vegas in 1985. With the move came
a large increase in the cowboy’s purse and fees paid to the stock
contractors for bucking horses and bulls.
Not only was this a boost to Benny’s cowboy friends, but a boost to
Las Vegas, as the WNFR has become one of the top tickets in sports
and one of Las Vegas most prestigious and lucrative two weeks of
the year.
The Binion family are proud of Benny Binion’s accomplishments in
promoting rodeo and

from this sale go to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in which
Benny Binion was honored by being inducted in 1988 in

Starting in 2010, ProRodeo Hall of Fame Scholarships are presented annually by the Benny Binion
Bucking Horse and Bull Sale hosted by the PRCA Stock Contractors.
Students eligible for a scholarship award must have completed a semester of college and have an
agricultural background or are pursuing an agricultural related education.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
OF THE SALE
The Bucking Stock Sale Management acts only as an Agent. All responsibilities and guarantees are between
Buyer and Seller.
All livestock is sold as is. Riding Horses are available for inspection on Wednesday, December 4th from 3pm to 5
pm at Horseman’s Park. Sellers or an authorized representative are required to be present during this time.
BUYERS – Attention Canadian Buyers - We will accept Canadian checks only if the check is payable in U.S. funds.
Bad Checks - A fee of $50 will be charged for any bad check. All future purchases by the buyer will be by cash,
cashier’s check or money order only.
All buyer’s must pay for ALL stock purchased under their bidder number. Absolutely NO items will be transferred
to another number when paying.
All livestock must be paid for by 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 7th. All payments are to be made to the auction
clerk located in the auction facility. We do NOT accept debit or credit cards.
Buyers pay $6.00 per head per day for feed for stock beginning Sunday, December 8, 2013. Prepayment is required
at settlement.
Immediately after the Livestock is sold, it will be the sole risk and responsibility of the Buyer thereof, but
possession of the Livestock cannot be obtained until payment in full has been made to the Cashier. Load Out
occurs in daylight hours only, starting on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Horseman’s Park in Las Vegas.
SELLERS - All checks to pay out sale proceeds to the seller will only be issued to the name(s) listed in the
catalog - No split or revised names will be made on checks. You do not have to be a PRCA Contractor to consign
livestock to the sale.
Sellers will be charged a processing and promotional fee of $150 per consigned animal.
Sellers checks will be mailed by Friday, December 13th. For Canadian sellers electronic payment is available if
requested and if banking information is provided timely with your consignment form. Any electronic payment
fees will be deducted from the settlement.
Buyers and Spectators are cautioned to be careful while on the premises and particularly while livestock is being
bucked in the arena. The Management cannot be responsible for any accidents.
If an original livestock consignment is replaced by different livestock, a $75 per head change fee will be charged
to the seller. Absolutely NO changes can be made to the consigned livestock beginning two weeks prior to the
final day of livestock check in. All sellers are responsible for buying back your own livestock. The auction does
NOT protect the selling price of your livestock. All livestock is sold to the highest registered bidder.
Health requirements as of 10-15-13 – subject to change – All livestock must have the following
health paperwork when it is checked in:

Negative EIA (Coggins test) within 6 months of sale
Health Certificate issued within 30 days of sale. This CVI contains the blanket permit number issued for this sale.
Ownership Papers
Bulls
Annual tuberculosis and brucellosis test.
Individual trichomoniasis test within 60 days of sale
Health Certificate issued within 30 days of sale. This CVI contains the blanket permit number issued for this sale.
Individual identification recorded on the health certificate.
Fax of the trichomoniasis results with the health certificate.
2013 PRCA ROUGHSTOCK PERMIT HOLDERS
OF THE YEAR CHALLENGE OVERVIEW
About
1.Top 5 Permit Holders from each roughstock event, based on total money won at the end of the 2013 season, which
concludes on September 30, 2013, will be invited to compete at the Benny Binion’s World Famous Bucking Horse &
Bull Sale in Las Vegas, NV on December 5 and 7, 2013.
2.If any of the top 5 do not accept or respond by designated deadline, go to #6, #7, #8, etc. until 5 permit holders in
each roughstock event are confirmed.
3.Event ground rules apply. All permits will be accepted first, based on 2013 money won. This includes any contestant
who was a permit member for any part of the 2013 rodeo season.
4.Entry fees for the invited PRCA Roughstock Permit Holder of the Year Challenge competitors will be paid by the Sale.
5.Invited competitors will enter through Procom as outlined in the approval listing in the Business Journal, no exceptions will be made. You must be eligible with the PRCA.
6.Each invited competitor will have two-head. If there is not enough livestock consigned for the sale, a bonus animal
will be assigned and the ride will not be official, only for points for the Permit Holder of the Year Challenge.
7.In order to be eligible for the Permit Holder of the Year prizes, invited competitors must compete in all go-rounds
and bonus rides (see #5).
8.Winner will be individual with most combined points from all go-rounds at Sale in case of a tie, single highest
marked score from any go-round. If there is still a tie, go back to original permit standings, if the tie continues, there
will be a coin toss.

Curt Robinson: ‘Numbers guy’ now the pinch-hitter by Anne Christensen
Saying Curt Robinson is a numbers guy is like saying Billy Etbauer
is a saddle bronc rider. His job every year at the Benny Binion Bucking
Horse and Bull Sale is so undefined that no one seems able to describe
it exactly, yet there is general agreement that he’s essential to its smooth
operation.
“He’s our numbers guy,” says John Barnes, who chairs the sales
committee. “He was always the guy we relied on to keep the stats going,
back in the day of the Big Chief tablet and pens. Now that we have
computers, he has turned into our ‘911’ guy. If there’s a question about a
buyer’s number, he’ll work out their registration. If there’s an issue, he’ll
go put the fire out.”
“I guess I am the numbers guy,” Robinson concurs. “I keep a list of
all previous sales, and keep a summary of each day so we can compare
it to previous years. It’s amazing how often the sellers want to look at
previous years: the high seller each year, the average price for horses or
bulls, who’s bought the most, who’s sold the most.
“The lists help us keep track of who brings the good ones, and
remind people that you can’t bring an animal of lesser quality here,
because it won’t sell. You try to be fair to everyone who wants to bring
stock, but you can only have so many sellers,” he notes. “There’s a lot of
good judges of horses and bulls in the stands, and they’re not going to
put their hands in the air for something that’s mediocre. That’s what we
want – to encourage the quality of the animals that are being sold.
“Eventually, I want to get it all down to where we can see over the
years who’s had the highest-selling bareback horse how many times. In
every other pro sport, the announcers can say things like ‘That’s the first
time that’s happened since 1980,’ and I want to have that information.
“Donna Burkhardt (the Sale’s CPA) has the list of who has come
to the Sale before. I try to have as many people as possible on her list
already printed up, ready to verify their addresses and banks and all that
information,” he says. “It speeds them through registration, and some like
to keep the same number, like Bob Barnes – his number is 3.”
Robinson fondly remembers working with Bob Barnes and his
late wife Donita, for whom the PRCA’s Contract Personnel Lifetime
Achievement Award is now named.
“They worked so good together,” Robinson remembers. “Donita
was all business; he was too, but there were always so many people who
wanted to visit with him: up-and-coming bullfighters, contestants,
committee people. Sometimes Bob would have to ask people to move
over a little because he was trying to register buyers and watch the bulls
buck at the same time.”
Robinson’s worked at the sale for decades because he cares about
every aspect of rodeo, and that extends to the purpose behind the sale:
supporting the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo.
“I’ve been to the Hall a few times, looking at the memorabilia of
guys from years past,” Robinson says. “I think about what they parted
with to allow it to be exhibited there – that they thought so much of the
sport that they’d be willing to give up something important so it could
be part of the display. That says a lot about our sport. I know other pro
sports have their charities, but I don’t think they give from the heart like
our contestants do.”

The 29th annual Benny Binion’s Bucking Horse & Bull Sale will be Thursday, December
5th at 9am and Saturday, December 7th at 9am at the South Point Equestrian Center in
Las Vegas. Our world famous bucking stock auction features premiere barebacks,
saddle broncs, bulls, pickup horses and breeding stock from the U.S. and Canada.
It is a unique event as it is a rodeo and an auction combined into one outstanding event.
We buck “em and then sell “em. Thousands of spectators attend the bucking stock sale
each year. Tickets are available in advance for $12 or on the day of the event for $15.
The contestants compete for prize money during the 2013 Roughstock Permit Holder of
the Year Challenge held during the auction. The Bull Classic event will be held during
the auction on Thursday starting at 9am.
The auction sells between 200 to 250 head of livestock and annual sale proceeds have
exceed $1,000,000 during past years.
The bucking stock sale is produced by the PRCA Stock Contractors and many
volunteers. The proceeds of the auction benefit the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, various
