Springhill Suites
Belmont, CA
AD has proposed and designed a new 4 story
hotel. It is approximately 19510 sf., houses 169
guest rooms and employs 171 parking spaces.
The hotel is located on a 3.39 Acre site parallel
to the state highway 101 in Belmont. The site
is to be beautifully landscaped and designed to
be in harmony with it’s surroundings.

HILTON GARDEN INN & SUITES
Palo Alto, CA
This Hilton Garden Inn project is a 4 story,
110,800 sq. ft., 176-room facility with two
levels of underground parking to accommodate 178 parking spaces. It is a “U” shaped
structure with a Porte Cochere for guest drop
off. The hotel features amenities including
an on-site bar and restaurant, business
center, indoor pool, spa, fitness center, and
patio area with an outdoor fire pit.

VILLAGE HOTEL
Mountain View, CA
This six story Village Hotel is part of the
Village at San Antonio Phase II project.
“boutique” hotel by an internationally
recognized brand and will cater to the
Silicon Valley. It is 137,000 sq. ft.
including 13,500 sq. ft. of retail and
rooms. The design of the hotel is
dominated by three tower elements, one at
the main entry and the other two facing the
Hetch Hetchy open space. The architecture
utilizes a material pallet comprised of a
ribbed metal panel system, stucco and
stone veneer. Glass balconies offer views
of the open space. This project will pursue

Napa, CA
AD is designing a new 4 story, 115-room hotel
for the rapidly growing South Napa area.
This 102,000 sq. ft. hotel is on schedule to
open in the summer of 2015. Along with
pool and spa, exercise room, and meeting
rooms for its guests. It will provide
surface parking and environmentally

HILTON GARDEN INN & SUITES
Burbank, CA
The Burbank site is designed for a 6 story
hotel with pool and fitness center along a
major thoroughfare. The hotel is 213,000
sq. ft. with 209 rooms and includes a
full service restaurant and bar as well
as the normal amenities provided by this
internationally recognized brand.
Type III-A construction will be used
for this structure. The building will be
comprised of two levels of underground
parking with 171 parking spaces, a
concrete podium at the first floor with five
floors of wood framed construction above.
The building is a “U” shaped design with
the outdoor pool located on the second floor.
The design enhances the street level
pedestrian experience by incorporating the
use of raised planters, finish materials,
awnings and two main entries. The entire
first floor of the building is clad in a brick
veneer to help define the pedestrian level
experience from the upper floors which are
a mix of metal panels and stucco finishes.
This project will pursue a LEED Silver
certification and is scheduled to open in
the spring of 2016.

HAMPTON INN & SUITES
Bellevue, WA
This 77,639 sq. ft., 128-room hotel is
located on the site of an old post office
adjacent to HWY 405, minutes from
downtown Seattle. There is a creek
running through the western portion of
the site as well as wetlands to the south
constraining development. Parking is
on-grade around the building. The hotel
features an indoor swimming pool and
outdoor fire pit area. Currently under
construction and scheduled to open in late
2014.

MARRIOTT COURTYARD
(ONE MARINA HOTEL)
Redwood City, CA
AD is currently designing this 5 story,
184,000 sq. ft., 177-room hotel in
Redwood City. The existing site is 2.83
acres, but includes numerous easements
and dedications which decrease the usable
area of the site to approximately 1.5 acres.
This coupled with the high water table drove
the design to have structured parking
above grade. Approximately 15,000 sq. ft.
of the first floor will be comprised of the hotel
lobby, lounge, administrative and support
areas. The second floor will be used for
parking with the upper three levels for
rooms and other amenities.
The proposed structure will utilize
a 2-story concrete podium with a wood
framed structure above. The exterior design
uses wood siding, concrete and stucco
to relate to the adjoining residential
development. Extensive esplanade and
pedestrian access improvements along
Redwood Creek have been incorporated
into the site design.

HOMEWOOD SUITES
San Jose, CA
Designed to cater to the business and
vacation travelers in the San Jose area,
it will be home away from home-providing
a quiet and comfortable place to stay.
This 97,000 sq. ft., 140-room hotel is
orientated to provide an acoustic buffer
from the adjacent highway and busy street
which has noise levels well in excess of 70
decibels. The four-story wings will shield
the outdoor courtyard that includes a pool
and fitness center. The hotel design
resolved some difficult site constraints.

Designs and sites have included hotel flag
conversions, a former post office, locations
next to major highways or in downtown
locations. All have required navigation of
various conditions to produce buildings with

AD completed the first Extended Stay projects on the West Coast. All the projects
confronted land use issues and discretionary approvals by agencies.
The hotels perfected the use of wood framing as the superstructure in the West Coast
“wood” market.

EXTENDED STAY AMERICA
Santa Rosa, CA
This 44,500 sq. ft. Extended Stay America
Hotel broke the mold of the Extended
Stay Corporation’s prototype to contend
with difficult terrain and historic zone
design restrictions. We successfully
accomplished this through the use of
natural stone and a variety of roof planes
which gave the building a scale more
consistent with its residential surroundings.
Some of the old rural structures in the
neighborhood provided inspiration for the
historic influences.

Fremont, CA
This was an exciting development for
Fremont, as the city only had limited
hospitality amenities at the time. This
unique project contains three hotels
and a common parking structure on the
10-acre site. Architectural Dimensions
was responsible for master planning and
design for the La Quinta, Homestead and
Marriott Hotels, including management of the
entitlement process with the city.

HAMPTON INN & SUITES
West Sacramento, CA
Located off of the I-80 a few miles from the
shopping and dining attractions in Old Town
and Downtown Sacramento. Nearby is the
State Sapitol and the Convention Center.
This site is designed as a 4 story hotel with
an outdoor pool and exercise room. This
hotel is 68,500 sq. ft. with 110 rooms and
is in close proximity to amenities provided
by nationally known eateries and local
hotspots.
Type-V construction is used for this
structure. The building has meeting rooms,
administrative offices, and exercise rooms
on the first and residential upper floors. The
porte cochere and exterior canopies adds to
the attractiveness of the design.
The entire first floor of the building is
clad in a brick veneer to resonate with the
local architectures. It flows into the stucco
finishes of the upper floor exeriors to create
a rhythm that is a visually pleasing experience for pedestrians.
