As soon as you look at the all new
Santa Fe, you get an overwhelming
impression of luxury, comfort and
strength. It feels like a car you can
trust. From its beautifully proportioned
sweeping curves to the tactile feel of
the door handles, everything suggests
the quality of a first class vehicle. Look
even closer and you’ll see sleek design
elements are effortlessly integrated into
the exterior. In fact the Santa Fe has

Front foglights and HID Xenon
headlights:
Not just for show, front foglights come
as standard for safer driving in difficult
weather conditions. On the subject
of visibility, the Santa Fe Elite Limited
features High Intensity Discharge (HID)
Xenon headlights with washers and
auto levelling to cast a significantly
brighter and longer beam without
causing glare for oncoming drivers.
Chrome finishing:
The Hyundai three-bar hexagonal front
grille ensures the Santa Fe stands
out from the crowd. Dual chrome

that fold down and a special lighting
system that helps guide your way. With
the touch of a door handle, the Santa
Fe unlocks itself without you needing
to press the key (Elite models only).
Push button start:
The all new Santa Fe also features a
push button start, so you can start the
engine without turning a key in the
usual manner (Elite models only).
Rain sensing front wipers:
Whenever moisture is detected on the
windscreen of Elite models, the rainsensitive front wipers spring into action

Luxury combines with practicality

very special travel space. The auxiliary
audio and USB inputs allow full iPod
connectivity and connection to other
external audio devices. The seats on
Elite models are adjustable in more
ways than you can shake a memory
stick at. The new Satellite Navigation
system on Elite models pre-warns you
of potential traffic hotspots ahead. Dual
zone climate control air-conditioning
has a built in pollen filter for cleaner air,
and also works a chilly bin in the front
passenger centre console (Elite models
only). Even the electro chromatic rearview mirror on Elite models joins in the
action, automatically dimming at night to
reduce headlight glare from cars behind.

Talk about finesse. The luxury leather**
interior on Elite models includes
electrically adjustable seats: 12-way
on the driver seat, and 4-way on the
front passenger seat. The driver seat
on all models also features electrically
adjustable lumbar support.
Integrated Memory Seating (IMS):
Ideal if you have multiple drivers. Save
two different driver seating positions
and switch between them with the
touch of a button. The last-used
position is also allocated to the keyremote when you close the car, so the
seat automatically returns to your preset position if you were the last person
driving (Elite models only).
Heated seats:
Impressed yet? We’re just warming
up. The Santa Fe seats feature 3-stage
front seat warmers and 2-stage second
row seat warmers so you can stay
cosy inside, whatever the weather
outside (Elite models only).
Flexible seating:
Second row seats offer the flexibility
and convenience of sliding, reclining
and one-touch folding from the rear.
You can also configure in numerous
ways the 40:20:40 split folding second
row seats so you can adapt the seating
layout for carrying passengers and long
gear like skis and snowboards.
Fingertip controls:
The Santa Fe’s multi-functional steering
wheel puts everything you need at
your fingertips. Manage your music and
listen to your favourite songs without
taking your hands off the wheel.
There’s also steering wheel mounted
controls for answering and ending
Bluetooth phone calls, controls for the
cruise control, and on Elite models,
controls for the Satellite Navigation.

Electronic park brake:
Even the handbrake on the Santa Fe
is now a remarkable point of
difference. We’ve replaced the
standard lever on Elite models with an
electronic button, positioned handily in
the central console.
Advanced audio:
Every all new Santa Fe comes with an
in-dash MP3 compatible CD player and
iPod connectivity. Entry models feature
4-speakers and 2-tweeters, while Elite
models feature a full surround sound
experience, including an external amp
and 8” sub-woofer.
Supervision cluster:
Coolly lit in soft blue, the illuminated
supervision cluster gives you excellent
visibility and easy to read information
at night, reducing fatigue on your eyes
(Elite models only).
One touch triple turn indicators:
Here’s another nice touch. When
you’re changing lanes, the Santa Fe
points you in the right direction with
one touch, triple turn indicators.

combination of active and passive
safety technologies has earned the all
new Santa Fe a 5-star ANCAP safety
rating, the highest possible safety
rating a vehicle can achieve#.
As well as an impressive seven
airbags, including a new driver knee
airbag, its long list of innovative safety
features includes Electronic Stability
Control (ESC), Traction Control System
(TCS), Vehicle Stability Management
(VSM) and the all new Advanced
Traction Cornering Control (ATCC).

5-star ANCAP safety rating:
The Santa Fe delivers the highest levels
of advanced active and passive safety
technologies to ensure maximum
protection for all passengers, achieving
a 5-star ANCAP safety rating for frontal
and side impact#. In fact the Santa Fe
achieved a score of 35.6 out of 37 points
in these tests, the highest-rated large SUV
tested in 2012, making it one of the safest
vehicles on sale in New Zealand today,
and further demonstrating Hyundai’s
commitment to your safety, at all times.
Advanced Traction Cornering
Control (ATCC):
A brand new safety feature, Advanced
Traction Cornering Control (ATCC)
continuously analyses data such as road
speed, throttle input and steering angle.
It then distributes torque to any single
wheel as required, providing improved
lateral stability when cornering, and
counteracting unintended over- and
under-steer. End result? The Santa Fe
is now even safer to drive on our varied
New Zealand roads.
Santa Fe. This innovative safety
system continuously monitors vehicle
directional stability and tyre traction.
If the system senses the car is about
to skid, ESC kicks in, applying brakes
over individual wheels to prevent loss
of control.
Seven SRS airbags:
The Santa Fe also incorporates high
levels of passenger safety with seven
airbags: two advanced front airbags, two
seat-mounted side-impact airbags and
two side-curtain roof-mounted airbags
that stretch all the way to the third row
of seating. An all new driver knee airbag
protects the knees of the driver in the
event of a frontal impact and rollover
sensors also feature that deploy side
airbags in the event of a rollover.
Child seat anchor points:
The Santa Fe is designed to keep Kiwi
families as safe as possible, with tether
child seat anchor points in the second
row and ISOFIX child seat anchor
points on second row outside seats.
Reversing sensors and
reversing camera:
The Santa Fe thinks of everything. To
help with parking in tight spots, four
ultrasonic sensors at the rear of the
Santa Fe are automatically activated
when you select reverse, giving an
audible warning if and where objects
are detected. For added peace of
mind on Elite models, a reversing
camera seals the deal with a colour
image on your front screen.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC):
Along with Downhill Brake Control
(DBC), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC)
and Vehicle Stability Management
(VSM), Electronic Stability Control
(ESC) is standard on the all new
Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and
Downhill Brake Control (DBC)
Hill-start Assist Control does exactly
what it says on the tin, preventing
backward roll on steep hills and
giving you a smooth transition from
whoa to go. When going down steep
descents, the Downhill Brake Control
helps control the brakes so you can
keep your feet off the pedals and
concentrate on where you’re heading.
Cornering lights:
Simple but very clever. When you flick
the indicator on inside the car, an extra
light from the Santa Fe’s foglights
illuminates the space to the side you’re
turning to, so you can see exactly
where you’re heading.

As you’d expect from a family car of this
quality, the all new Santa Fe has plenty
of bells and whistles that really come
into their own on any family outing –
from a road trip across country to a jaunt

Satellite Navigation with SUNA™
GPS traffic monitoring:
The high-tech in-dash 7” LCD colour
touch-screen Satellite Navigation
system on Elite models is loaded
with NAVTEQ™ New Zealand street
maps to help you find your way. It also
incorporates SUNA™ GPS Live Traffic
updates – a kiwi first – which offers
you up-to-the-minute information on
traffic incidents such as accidents, road
closures, congestion, major road works
and special events.When travelling in
Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch,
the Satellite Navigation system will
route you around these time wasters
when it detects them on your planned
route. You also receive free yearly map
updates for three years, updated in the
second and third years when you bring
your Santa Fe in for routine servicing.
All of which means you can reach your
destination with a minimum of fuss.
Flex steer:
Hyundai’s innovative Flex steer
system allows each driver to select
their preferred steering weight
setting – Comfort, Normal or Sport
– depending on the conditions and
environment you’re driving in:
1. Normal mode offers perfect support
for city and country roads.
2. Comfort mode lightens the steering
to improve manoeuvrability - perfect
for tight spots and busy roads
around town.
3. Sport mode unlocks the all new
Santa Fe’s potential on the open road.
Switch to Sport and you’ll quickly find
out the Santa Fe isn’t just a family
car, it’s a driver’s car too.
Supervision cluster:
Coolly lit in soft blue, the illuminated

whilst maintaining a constant speed,

Satellite Navigation (on Elite models),
and cruise controls, without taking
your hands off the wheel. Skip to
your favourite song, mute or adjust
the cruise control, make, answer and
end calls, all while remaining in total
control of your vehicle.
Bluetooth handsfree phone system
and music streaming:
The Bluetooth handsfree on the all
new Santa Fe is something special.
The system downloads your contacts
from your smartphone so you can
make calls directly from the steering
wheel controls without touching your
phone. It also mutes the stereo when
a call comes in and enables you to
stream music directly from your phone
or media device over the Bluetooth
connection – now that’s useful.
Premium audio:
Pump up the volume. With
10-speakers on Elite models including
a subwoofer and an external amplifier,
you and your family can have a
high quality surround sound audio
experience wherever you sit in the
Santa Fe.
The Flex steer system is conveniently
controlled from the steering wheel.

Performance
The power is palpable under the hood
of the all new Santa Fe, with a choice of
three engines that deliver performance,
endurance and fuel economy.
The ever-popular 2.2 litre R-series diesel
engine delivers 145 kW of power, and a
whopping 436 Nm of torque. The new
2.4 litre GDi engine delivers 141 kW of
power, and 242 Nm of torque. That’s
an 11% increase in power and 7%
increase in torque from the previous
generation. Add to this a 6% reduction
in CO2 emissions and 4% reduction in
combined fuel consumption and that’s
a pretty special achievement. Finally,
there’s the 3.3 V6 petrol engine, which
delivers a massive 199 kW of power,
and 318 Nm of torque.
Improved overall fuel efficiency and
lower emissions are delivered with
a combined fuel consumption of just
7.3* litres per 100 km for the 2.2-litre
diesel model with a CO2 emission
rating of just 192 g/km.

the output of large petrol engines – with
exceptional levels of economy only
a modern diesel engine can deliver.
The development of this diesel engine
has evolved even since the previous
Santa Fe model, and further highlights
Hyundai’s ongoing commitment to
producing vehicles with a minimal
impact on the environment.
Advanced 6-speed automatic
transmission:
The Santa Fe’s 6-speed automatic
transmission with sequential sport
shift allows you to enjoy manual style
gear shifting without a clutch. In
addition to giving you a performance
edge, it also improves fuel efficiency
and reduces CO2 emissions. Having
a sixth gear means closer spacing
between gear ratios for better
performance and fuel economy.
Electronic torque-on-demand
4WD system:
Available across the diesel and 2.4
petrol range, this clever system ensures
that the Santa Fe stays in 2WD mode
for maximum fuel economy. When it
needs to, the system will switch to
4WD mode, sending torque to the rear
wheels. You can also engage permanent
