Douglas Kline – Deerpath The sledding hill, located next to the Clubhouse on the Par 3 course and overlooking Birch Island Lake, is a favorite of young families. This spirited group is making the most of the sunny day and perfect sledding conditions. A new season of fun begins Warm clothes and food. Cozy indoor activities. Holiday parties and feasts. And a new season of outdoor adventure. These are among the many joys that winter brings. How will you enjoy the coming months at Voyager Village? Here are three suggestions: • Gather in the Grill. We’re planning many holiday meals and events. Details on page 5. • Explore our trails. There are many opportunities for skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in Voyager and the surrounding areas. Details on page 3. • Observe nature. The barren trees allow for spectacular views of the landscape, sky and wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled and your camera handy. Like all healthy communities, Voyager Village is continually evolving to keep pace with the changing times and emerging interests of our members. Recreational amenities: We are always striving to enhance the recreational experience of our members. This winter, snowmobilers will benefit from the work we’ve done to improve trail markings, create safer routes and offer more convenient parking. This has been a year of growth and change, a year of innovation and rejuvenation. Golf and Recreation News from Rob Witter 1. Snowmobile for miles Over 300 miles of snowmobile trails wind their way through Burnett County and connect to all surrounding counties. 2. Snowshoe and cross-country ski Blue and white directional signs will lead you to our 5-mile Golf Course Trail, open to skate and classic skiers, and Hanscom Lake (3.5 miles) and Muellner (3.2 miles) trails, open to classic skiing and snowshoeing.There are nearly 70 miles of additional trails nearby. 3. Pull out the sleds and tip-ups Kids love our sledding hill, located on the Par 3 Course across from the Clubhouse. They also get a kick out of ice fishing. Check with the local bait shops to get the latest conditions on our local lakes, safe ice fishing protocol, and of course, the bait. 4. Swim and workout indoors Swim some laps, do some water aerobics and use the exercise equipment in our Fitness Center to help you stay active and fit all winter long. Located on the lower level of the Clubhouse. • Golf Shop closed in January and February. Thank you XC Voyagers! XC Voyagers, our cross-country ski club, and other volunteers groom and maintain all of the ski trails within Voyager Village, as well as the sledding area.
