Lake Placid, Florida
Lake Placid, Florida “Town of Murals” Beginning in 1992, the Lake Placid Mural Society, under the direction of Harriet & Bob Porter, placed 46 murals on the walls of the town’s buildings. They tell a story of life in Lake Placid, its history, its attractions, and people. Scattered among the murals are paintings of birds by Jayne Ford, as well as trash can covers that look like anything but trash cans. Numbers refer to the map in the The Murals of Lake Placid, available from the Lake Placid Mural Society. Note that some of the photographs below are cropped versions of the actual mural. 15.Town of Murals-How It All Began [Bob & Harriet Porter] (Keith Goodson, January 2014) 20’ X 13’ 2. That structure now houses the Good News Juice & Smoothie Cafe and “Ink Spots” has been moved inside . It hasn’t a number because it is no longer listed in the catalogue published by the Lake Placid Mural Society. Lake Placid, Florida-19 9.
