It is that time of year as one
year is winding down and quickly
vanishing and another year is about
to be born bringing with it new opportunities, possibilities, and circumstances in life. Some people
live in fear for what the future may bring. As believers
in the Lord Jesus Christ we are to be people of hope,
having an assurance that whatever we face we will
face it with Him present in our lives.
I want to encourage you to look forward to the
New Year with the hope and excitement that God is
going to do some great things. This is not some prosperity gospel I am talking about. But, this is about believing in the Majesty, Glory, Greatness, and Wonder
of Almighty God. You see He is active in our world, He
is pro-active, and His Providential care as our Great
Shepherd is ever present.
As believers we are facing ever increasing hostilities, resistance, and outright persecution may be on
the horizon. Churches and pastors are facing ever
more pressure to recognize same sex marriages. I just
read where one college in the North has to defend its
policy against the hiring of same sex employees, and
much of that from alumni. Since when is it necessary
for Christian institutions to defend Biblical stances?
Now, I guess.

We live in the twenty-first century where political correctness stands to accept everyone’s opinions,
views, and rights and at the same time denies Christianity’s views and rights as repressive, traditional, and
too dogmatic. It use to be that Christianity had to defend and explain our differences among denominations. Now, it is a day and time where the pressure,
criticisms and attacks from outside of Christianity
may be causing more unity among all Christian lines,
and that is not necessarily a bad thing at all.
SUNDAYS, 6:15—7:30 PM
3 years—5th grade
Whatever we face in 2015 let’s embrace it as a
mission. God has given us this opportunity as believers, followers, worshippers, and committed Christians
to stand up for our Lord and Savior. May we find the
courage, strength, stamina, and faith to do just that.
May you find your mission in serving Christ this year
and fulfill it to the best of your ability.
Bro. Craig
I AM NOT FORGOTTEN…
Waiting is hard at any time; but when days, weeks, or
even months pass and our prayers seem to go unanswered, it’s easy to feel God has forgotten us. Perhaps we can struggle through the day with its distractions, but at night it’s doubly difficult to deal with our
anxious thoughts. Worries loom large, and the dark
hours seem endless. Utter weariness makes it look
impossible to face the new day.
Satan whispers that God has forgotten us, and that
things will never change. We may be tempted to give
in to despair. Why bother to read the Bible or to
pray? Why make the effort to worship with fellow
believers in Christ? But we need our spiritual lifelines
most when we’re waiting. They help to hold us
steady in the flow of God’s love and to become sensitive to His Spirit.
The psalmist had a remedy. He focused on all that he
knew of God’s love, reminding himself of past blessings and deliberately praising God, who would not
forget him. So can we.
