While you’re creating that out of sight one-off tank, don’t forget you
need to get the gas to the engine, and that calls for a petcock mount.
Most petcocks used in custom applications, and what we offer, have
either 3/8” NPT or 1/4” NPT threads. These steel Petcock Bungs are
offered to accept either thread size. They are 2” long, with 1/2”
of either 3/8” NPT or 1/4” NPT internal thread for your petcock to
screw into, then the remaining 1 1/2” bored out to .8200 inner bore
to allow good gas flow. Can be used with custom oil tanks as well.
Comes Raw. Position Petcock Bung where you want the petcock to
mount, cut a hole in the tank, then weld ‘er in!. Sold Each.

Two versions of the obsolete hand shift style 3.5 gallon gas tank sets.
Accurate placement of the shifter gate lugs and shut-off rod hole
centers ensures trouble-free service. Available in two versions. One is
a totally accurate reproduction of the original, rod-style gas shut-off
equipped tank used from 48-65. The other is based on the same tank,
but eliminates the early style gas shut-off rod system and replaces
it with the tank bottom fitting for the late 13/16" external-thread
petcock. Both tanks accept the correct cam-style gas caps and are

long, 9” wide and 7” deep. For custom applications with 2 mounting
