COMPETITION RULES
GROSS COMPETITION FORMAT
1. The competition will be a junior competition in the form of an 18-hole
medal round.
2. All competitors must be under 18 years of age at midnight on Jan 1, 2016.
3. All boy competitors will play off men’s medal tees.
4. All girl competitors will play off LGU tees.
5. The winners of the Gross competition will be the boy and the girl with the best gross scores.
6. The competition standard scratch will be used for boys. The CSS for the
men’s medal tees must be clearly indicated on the player’s card and his gross score must be shown against CSS as opposed to par.
7. The competition standard scratch will be used for girls. The CSS for the
LGU tees must be clearly indicated on the player’s card and her gross
score must be shown against CSS as opposed to par. Where a girl’s
competition has less than five entries, the score will be determined against the SSS of the ladies’ course and not the CSS.
8. Ties in each club competition will be decided on a count back over the last nine, six, and three holes in that order (holes 10-18). The front nine (holes 1-9) score should then be counted by the same method. If still tied, a
sudden death play-off should be held over holes decided by the club competition organiser.
9. A boys’ club competition must have a minimum of five eligible players. A
girls’ club competition must have a minimum of two eligible players.
NET COMPETITION FORMAT
10. The competition will be a junior competition in the form of an 18-hole
medal round.
11. All competitors must be under 18 years of age at midnight on Jan 1, 2016.
12. All boy competitors will play off men’s medal tees.
13. All girl competitors will play off LGU tees.
14. The winners of the Net competition will be the boy and the girl with the best net scores.
15. The competition standard scratch will be used for boys. The CSS for the
men’s medal tees must be clearly indicated on the player’s card and his net score must be shown against CSS as opposed to par.
16. The competition standard scratch will be used for girls. The CSS for the
LGU tees must be clearly indicated on the player’s card and her net
score must be shown against CSS as opposed to par. Where a girl’s
competition has five or less entries, the score will be determined against the SSS of the ladies’ course and the CSS.
17. Ties in each club competition will be decided on a count back over the last 9, 6, and 3 holes in that order (i.e. holes 10-18). The front nine (i.e. holes 1-9)
score should then be counted by the same method. If still tied, a sudden
death play-off should be held over holes to be decided by the club competition organiser.
18. No caddies are allowed at qualifying competitions and juniors must play on
their own, not with adults.
19. The competition should preferably be open, although if club rules prevent
this, closed competitions will be allowed.
20. A boys’ club competition must have a minimum of five eligible players. A
girls’ club competition must have a minimum of two eligible players.

ELIGIBILITY
21. In the event of a SINGLE GIRL PLAYER only, if the girls’ competition and the
boys’ competition are to be staged the same day, this girl may play alongside the boys using the LGU tees. She would be subject to the
girls’ competition rules with the addition that the scorecard must be marked by a boy entrant (aged 15 or over OR with a handicap of 12 or less). Upon completing the course, the girl entrant would only be eligible to be the girls’ competition winner, NOT the overall winner. A girls’ competition that takes place on a separate day to the boys competition, in which only one girl participates, will NOT constitute a competition. Please note, when returning the girls’ competition proforma, please make sure that the boy’s name, age and handicap details are clearly indicated.
22. ALL BOYS MUST HAVE A HANDICAP OF 28 OR LESS; ALL GIRLS
MUST HAVE A HANDICAP OF 36 OR LESS.
23. All competitors must be permanent residents in the UK or ROI.
