The Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce proudly presents the January Business of the Month Award to the
Aransas Pass Civic Center, in recognition of their continuous support of the Chamber.
“This 30,000 square foot facility hosted its Grand Opening in April of 2009. It is available to host an array of
events ranging from conventions, meetings, banquets, and weddings. The facility is located in a picturesque
Gulf setting and features a divisible exhibition hall/ballroom of more than 16,000 square feet, approximately 2,000 square feet of meeting room space, and an outstanding Courtyard of nearly 12,000 square feet. It
is designed to host meetings, conferences, trade shows, concerts, theatrical events, banquets, and receptions.”

January Luncheon
“2015 Cheniere Update”

Jason French of Cheniere Energy, Inc. was the guest speaker of this month’s luncheon giving an update on the
Cheniere Project in San Patricio County. The $13 billion dollar project in San Patricio County has 80% capacity already sold for the next 20 years, which will be the largest industrial project built in Texas and the 2nd biggest in the
U.S. With 2.1 billion cubic feet and 48 inch gas pipe bringing in gas everyday will allow to reach gas from all over the
country. The U.S. trade deficit will be reduced by $7 billion a year benefiting the surrounding communities. “This
facility alone will be equivalent to eleven and a half Cowboy stadiums, making it a very big deal to be in the Coastal
Bend!”, says Mr. French. The new facility will take approximately 5 years to complete with 350 permanent employees when construction is done with good pay making six figures with over time in “industrial jobs.” One of the benefits of having this facility will give locals the opportunity to work with them. Cheniere has partnered with a local
high school with a curriculum to train students in the industry giving double credit at Del Mar College for continued
education. “There are decades where nothing happens and weeks when decades happen”, quoted Mr. French.
