Villages
Please find below a presentation of surrounding villages.
They were all founded in the Middle Age, between the 5th and 15th
Century. They reflect the value of this medieval and Provençal
heritage, with churches, chapels, ruins and water fountains...
Fayence and Seillans are the most lively villages
and should not be missed !
Callian, Montauroux and Tourrettes have got a more quiet
atmosphere, but with a unique architecture.
Mons is maybe one of the smallest and highest villages:
its landscape on the «Pays de Fayence» is unforgettable !

Market of Fayence
The Provençal market of Fayence is located in the heart of the village, on the church square. This market is the reflect of
Provence with colors, perfumes and local flavours.
LAVENDER
Lavender is the symbol of Provence : harvested and fragrant in June and July, lavender finds the favour of perfumers...
It is often used to perfume household laundry, or presented as essential oil.
HONEY
Honey is one of the most delicate flavours of Provence. It may be made from many types of trees and flowers.
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
Many types of flowers, fruits and vegetables are available on the market. Provençal cooking is often composed of tomatoes, eggplants,
zucchinis, melons, figs and apricots.
SOAP OF MARSEILLE
The traditional Soap of Marseille is made with a vegetal oil base, sea water, olive oil and algae alkaline ash.
Often perfumed with almond, honey, lavender or with rose...
OLIVE OIL
Olive oil is one of the main South cooking component, but it could be used in cosmetics products, soaps, pharmaceutical products...
Black and green olives are sold on all Provençal markets.
CHEESES
Cheese of Provence has got a real products mosaic.
There are about 700 farm producers who provide a large variety of cheeses from Provence.
