CH 13. CARE & MAINTENANCE
General Cleaning
Alloc floors are easy to care for, just sweep or vacuum your Alloc floor periodically. When needed,
Alloc may be cleaned with a dry dust mop using spray bottle cleaners such as Alloc Free&Clean
cleaner. No further treatment of the surface is required. Do not use any floor polishes, detergents,
soaps or waxes. The residue from such cleaners may leave a film on your Alloc floor. Never use
scouring pads or steel wool on your surface as damage may occur.

Preventative maintenance
To help ensure the long lasting beauty of your floor, follow these simple preventative steps.
Eight important protection points:
1. Use walk-off mats or entry mats both outside and inside your front door to collect dirt
and soil from shoes.
2. Use protective furniture coasters under narrow wheels and felt pads under furniture legs.
3. Eliminate sand and grit with regular vacuuming with a soft brush attachment or dust
mopping.
4. Use caution in moving heavy objects. We recommend that you slide them on a piece of upside
down carpet or cardboard.
5. Avoid excessive amounts of water.
6. Place area rugs in front of high wear areas such as in front of your kitchen sink.
7. Recommended relative humidity of 45%.
8. Never use floor waxes, wood soaps and polishes.
9. Use clear plastic mats under rolling chairs.
Repairs
For deep scratches and gouges use a repair putty similar in color to your flooring. This can be
purchased at a home improvement or floor covering store. Follow the instructions on the product.
If scratches and gouges are significant, replace the plank. Please see the installation section of this
manual for instructions on replacing a plank.
Warning: Do not use steel or abrasive cleaners on the floor.
Never refinish floor (sanding and/or lacquering)
Never apply wax or polish to the surface of your flooring.
