Your unit’s trip to Winterfest will likely be the highpoint of the year for your
youth. Be sure to plan well enough in advance so you can fully enjoy it.
Included in this packet is information on each of the hotels that have offered a
“Winterfest” rate to your crew/post. Be sure to ask for it when you call to make
your reservation. Book your rooms early, as the official Winterfest hotels will fill
quickly.
Information on each hotel can be found in this guide and you can book directly
from it.

Tennessee Sales Tax
To avoid the Tennessee State Tax you can get your own Tax Exempt Certificate.
To acquire this, follow these steps.

STEPS:
1.
Go to this Website: http://tennessee.gov/revenue
2.
From the Homepage, click on “state taxes”
3.
At their homepage click on “Sales and use tax”
4.
At the next screen click on “Application for non-profit exemption
(PDF)”
5.
Print out the one page application and one page instruction sheet
6.
Fill out the application and mail it to the address listed on the
instruction sheet
7.
Allow six weeks for processing
8.
Any questions call the Tennessee Revenue Office at 615-253-0600.
Note that only organizations classified as “501(c)3” by the IRS are able to get
Tennessee Tax Exempt Certificates.
