Playing Adventure Golf at Jurassic Golf is an adventurous and
educational experience for players of all ages. With its 18 holes
and dinosaur theme, Jurassic Golf is the first adventure golf
course in the Netherlands.
Players travel millions of years back in time aenabling them to
stand eye to eye with a Brontosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptor
and many others. Several of the dinosaurs are animatronic and
move as if they were alive. Each dinosaur also has its
number of own placard providing further information for those
interested in learning more.

The course is filled with fun surprises and details,
as for example an enormous cave, a waterfall,
footprints on the fairway, fossils in the stones, a crashed dino
jeep, and a raft.

Jurassic Golf is a part of IJsselweide Golfbaan in Gouda,
Netherlands, and at the forefront of golf courses in the
Netherlands. In February 2016 Michel de Meijer was awarded the
Dutch Golf Federation’s Innovation Award.

The restaurant adapted a more kids and family friendly menu, which has
given a great result since their turnover has grown rapidly. Michel’s idea to organize
children’s parties and family days also contributed to the restaurant’s success. Many
of these visitors visit the restaurant after playing the Adventure Golf course.

In the beginning it was a little difficult to convince the club’s members, and other golfers, that Aventure Golf was a good idea; now almost everyone sees the advantages!
"After playing the course, our golf pros invite the kids with their parents to hit a few
balls on our driving range. This has already resulted in more youth players and members", said de Meijer.
1,000 players every week
During the first six months Jurassic Golf recived almost 20,000 players even though
the weather was unfavorable. On average, about 1,000 players visit the course every
week.
"I would recommend Adventure Golf to more golf clubs and other locations as well.
I believe that besides being fun for all ages, it is becoming a new
form of recreation. It does not take a whole day, it is outside,
competitive, and also affordable so customers come more
than once", said de Meijer. "Everybody loves it! We know
this because we also ask how people found us, and a
lot of times it is because somebody else told them. We
are getting great references on TripAdvisor and social
media."
