Sibshops are pedal-to-the-metal celebrations of the
many contributions made by brothers and sisters of
kids with special needs. Sibshops acknowledge that
being the brother or sister of a person with special
needs is for some a good thing, others a not-so-good
thing, and for many, somewhere in between. They
reflect a belief that brothers and sisters have much to
offer one another — if they are given a chance.
Sibshops are a spirited mix of new games (designed to
be unique, off-beat, and appealing to a wide ability
range), new friends and discussion activities.
Pre-School: Saturdays Jan 24 and March 14
7-12 year olds: Sat. Jan 10, Tue. Feb 17, Sat. March 21,

Is your Membership up-to-date?
Why is it important to be a member? It is required for participation in Recreation programs, for one! More importantly, though, our agency’s membership numbers give us advocacy power in national, state and local issues that affect all of us, whether you are an individual with a disability, a family member, or direct support professional. We want to be able to say to
our elected officials that we represent YOU. Membership is $40 per family for the year and financial assistance is available. If you are unsure of your member status, please contact us!
Your membership includes access to our Recreation Programs; 10 issues of our Timelines newsletter; the Arc
US newsletter; the Arc MA newsletter, The Advocate; Advocacy programs; Invitations to the Arc of East Middlesex events and an opportunity to nominate honorees for our Annual Spring Awards Ceremony. Give your family a voice as an Arc of East Middlesex Member!
If you would like to share your talents, skills and time, get
involved as a Recreation Volunteer! Call Pat Simons at
781-942-4888 x4032 or email [email protected]!
