Description: A 5-story reinforced concrete building near the center of the city suffered from nonstructural damage, such as (i) failure of the exterior wall finishes at several locations of the building
and (ii) failure of some exterior walls – made of brick – at the second floor. The first floor,
employed for commercial use, did not indicate significant level of damage. Debris of fallen parts of
the building facade was observed around the periphery of the building.
