Mounting tip: Remember the effects of heat when you plan for assemblies of steel and plastic
materials. The assembly suggested above accommodates the relatively large linear expansion
coefficient of plastic materials. As a rule, the expansion for UHMW = .0001 inches / inch / °F. In
cases of large temperature fluctuations, we recommend using short slide rails to minimize the
width of slots. Slide rails should be fastened to the C-channel to prevent displacement in the
direction of travel.
