Community Based Residen al Facility Memory Care Memory care facili es specialize in caring for persons with various demen as, most commonly Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease or vascular demen a. The type of care provided in a Memory Care unit is the same type of care provided to the general popula on of an assisted living community, but on a much more intense level. Caregivers are also more familiar with the behaviors associated with memory impairments and interact posi vely to achieve desired goals. Residen al Care Apartment Complex (RCAC) An RCAC is a place where five or more adults reside. Apartments must each have a lockable entrance and exit; a kitch‐
en, including a stove (ore microwave oven); and individual bathroom, sleeping and living areas.
