Common Prep period for core content areas English,
Math, Science, and History as well as Foreign
Language given during the regular school day

All departments worked to incorporate Common
Core Standards in the curriculum

MAP testing implemented for grades 7, 8, 9 two
times a year

Writing consultation for sophomores

Common writing rubrics used between ELA/History

PSAT testing in October was required for all
Sophomores
ELA and Math teachers used MCAS type questions
for daily warm-up activities
Monthly interdisciplinary meetings took place for
the purpose of discussing struggling students and
what interventions were put in place
Drop Everything And Read took place daily in the
Junior High School
