ABOUT US
SOUTHLAKE FAMILY YMCA
WELCOME
We are a powerful association of men, women
and children joined together by a shared
commitment to nurturing the potential of kids,
promoting healthy living and fostering a sense
of social responsibility.
We believe that lasting personal and social
change can only come about when we all work
together to invest in our kids, our health and
our neighbors. That’s why strengthening
community is our cause. Every day we work side
by side with our neighbors in 10,000
communities to ensure that everyone,
regardless of age, income or background has
the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Southlake Branch YMCA
When you join the Y you’re coming together with men,
women and children from your community who are
committed to youth development, healthy living and social
responsibility.
We know firsthand how difficult it can be to find balance in
life. That’s why we’re here with you every day, making sure
that you, your family and your community have the
resources and support needed to learn, grow and thrive.
We do that by encouraging good health and fostering
connections with new and old friends through sports, fun
and shared interests.
The Y offers programs, services and initiatives focused on
youth development, healthy living and social responsibility,
according to the unique needs of the communities it
engages.
The Y is accessible to all people. Financial assistance is
offered to individuals and families who cannot afford a
membership.
Areas of Focus
The primary purpose of the Southlake Branch YMCA is to
put Christian principles into practice through programs that
build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

CHILD CARE
PRESCHOOL
Our preschool provides the tools and activities for children to experiment while promoting caring, honesty, respect
and responsibility in a Christian environment. Our academic preschool is planned and based on a set of beliefs that
children learn best from hands-on activities. We collaborate with the Crown Point School Corporation to ensure our
classes help your child prepare for kindergarten. Additionally, each of our lead teachers has an education
degree/educator’s license…they know what skills and knowledge your child will need as they advance through
school. Our classes take a number of field trips with their parent(s) and classmates during the year. Our preschool
is unique because we offer our children swimming and gym once a week in our program. Classes start the day after
Labor Day in September and run through the end of May. Enrollment is limited.
*Class limit size is 16 students.

progressive, building upon basic skills and progressing toward mastery of techniques, and eventually
toward other aspects of aquatics and the potential for lifelong involvements in Aquatic Programs.
Please register early. All classes fill up quickly and have an enrollment limit. Full payment is required at

FOR
HEALTHY
LIVING
Improving our community’s health and well-being
We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are
and what they can achieve. That’s why, through the YMCA, millions of youth today
are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors,
better health, and educational achievement.
In neighborhoods across Lake County, the YMCA is a leading voice in health and
well-being. The Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and
fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result,
across the nation nearly 21 million youth, adults and families are receiving
support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and wellness for
their spirt, mind, and body.
Giving back and providing support to our neighbors
FOR SOCIAL

and training, welcoming and connecting diverse demographic populations through
