Storyboard Magazine June 2014 Welcome! Five thousand, nine hundred and fifty seven photos. That is about an hour and a half at one photo every second. We have so many great photos that it came down to which one was the best of the best of the best. Telling the story of the musical at Troy Christian Schools was hard! Picking what to leave out was really, really tough. The expression that each student put into their roles-whether an actor, technician or musician was worth celebrating. This magazine was a learning experience for Gene’Scenes--learning how to layout stories, how to chase down students for biographies (not entirely successful in that, sadly!) We learned that every student is worth capturing working or playing--but some run away from the camera! Some kids appear only once in all those photos, and sadly was out of focus or only part of a face. I apologize ahead of time if you aren’t shown on these pages. We tried, and we’ll definitely try harder next year. Summer is in full swing as I write this--it’s hot and muggy and about half of my friends on Facebook seem to be at the beach in the Carolinas or up North (Can I mention the state just North without incurring wrath?) We’re late with this magazine and I feel terrible. When Bethel Township in Tipp City got six inches of rain in ninety minutes, our front yard had three feet of water from the flash flood. Our basement door let in about 2 Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, lyrics by Tim Rice, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber An Amateur production by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd “I feel that being given the privilege of directing these marvelous young people over the last 30 plus years is a “gift from God”. Sure, it takes a lot of time and organization, stressful and tiring as well, but so worth the effort to enable these talented students to showcase God’s skills He has inside them each.” with our own students. Who is your favorite character in any musical? Oh my--I can’t say. I love them all, especially when my actor (actress) really becomes the character! How much time do you put into the last week of the musical? It seems like 24/7 :-) I sleep, eat, live it for four - five months a year! 5 setcostumes the stage 8 costumes Photo by Gabbi Flannery 11 orchestration 12 backstage 14 19 20 performances 21 31 40 curtain 46 51 56 57 Stephen Angerer G’S: Pick three friends, two tools and one food for a desert island, if you were marooned for six months with an unlimited supply of coconuts.
