TERMS & CONDITIONS
OPERATING TIMES
Business hours: Monday to Friday 08h00 – 18h00
Full day: 10 hours
Half day: 5 hours
OVERTIME CHARGES
After hours opening: R250 per callout
Weekend / public holiday surcharge: R500 per day (includes security)
Overtime in studio: R250 per hour until 22h00
R350 per hour after 22h00
Security overtime:
R100 per hour from 19h00 on weekdays
R100 per hour from 18h00 on weekends
LOCATION FEES
Should any part of Roodebloem Studios’ building (exterior or interior) want to be featured in any image or motion picture for commercial
gain, a location fee will be charged. Please discuss this with the studio manager prior to the shoot
PAINTING CHARGES
All infinity curves are supplied clean and white. Should they be dirtied, a painting fee of R8 per square meter will be charged (inclusive of
materials and labour within studio hours) to go back to white.
If you require any painting services or colour, please enquire with the studio manager for labour and paint costs
PROPS
Should you require any of our studio items as props, please discuss this with the studio manager prior to the shoot
MISCELLANEOUS COSTS
Productions utilizing tungsten or HMI lighting will be billed as per a meter reading (no discounts apply)
All consumables (ie gas heater, painting, paper backdrops, gaffer tape and overtime etc) will be charged for at full cost (no discounts apply)
CANCELLATION POLICY
Any studio cancelled 24 – 48 hours before the shoot date will incur a fee of 60% of the full day rate
Any studio cancelled within 24 hours of the shoot date will incur a fee of 80% of the full day rate
Any large block booking cancelled within 7 days of the first shoot date will incur a fee of 50% of all the shoot days
Should the renter cancel an order less than 24 hours before the confirmed booking date(s), a cancellation fee may apply and / or loss of reservation privileges
will occur
DAMAGE / BREAKAGE / LOSS
Surface damage to the floorboards will incur a re-varnishing fee of R55 per square meter
Surface damage to the concrete floors will incur a fee off R70 per square meter
Loss, breakage or damage to any Roodebloem Studios’ property or equipment will be charged at full cost
RENTAL CHARGES
Rental is charged on a daily basis and will accrue once the equipment has left the premises of Roodebloem Studios, until it is returned
A rental fee will be charged on all equipment that has been stolen / lost / damaged until such time as it is replaced, repaired or found
A surcharge from R250 will be charged for after hours or weekend openings for clients
EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE
All equipment is inspected by qualified staff before and on return of each rental. The renter must understand the operations and limitations of the equipment.
Failure of such will not be accepted as a reason for non-payment of hiring fees. In the event of equipment failure, Roodebloem Studios, at its sole discretion can
be held responsible only for the rental charges and not for any related costs
SPARE LAMP POLICY
Missing / broken lamps or filaments and / or excessive burnouts will be charged at 100%
INSURANCE
All Roodebloem Studios equipment carries compulsory insurance which is charged at 10% of the full daily rental rate
If a half day rental has been arranged, the full day insurance fee will still be applicable
Should damage / theft / loss occur, the excess is payable by the renter. Excess is charged at 10% of the replacement cost of the item(s), subject to a minimum
of R5000
A rental fee will be charged on all equipment that has been stolen / lost / damaged until such time as it is replaced, repaired or found
UNINSURED RISKS
Theft from an unattended vehicle unless stolen from a locked boot
Dismantling of any equipment
Confiscation of equipment
Loss of data
COLLECTION / DELIVERY
The renter shall be responsible for the collection and return of the equipment within the date / time agreed upon
Should the renter be unable to collect / return the equipment timeously the renter will be charged accordingly for any delays
The renter shall be responsible for all shipping, handling and courier / freight costs
A mandatory gear check is to be done by the photographer / assistant before equipment leaves the rental premises
Responsibility is on the renter to report any defect immediately on the equipment rented, failure to do so will result in the renter being liable for any damages
Confirmation of order to be done via email 48 hours before shoot date
INDEMNITY
The renter indemnifies Roodebloem Studios cc against any liability, loss or claim, irrespective of the cause of such liability, loss, damage or claim
whether from the renter or any affiliated parties directly or indirectly
ACCOUNTS
All invoice queries to be done within 7 days from the date of invoice
If Roodebloem Studios is instructed to bill client and client defaults, the payment liability will fall on the photographer / agent who booked the
