Bagging / Mulching / Discharge
There are different ways of disposing the clippings: mulching, bagging and discharge. Some of the Cub Cadet lawn mowers
offer all three functions simultaneously; other mowers can be converted with appropriate attachments. You can recognize
these units by our logos:
2-in-1 means that you have two functions in one mower: mulching and discharge
(model CC 46 MB).
3-in-1 means that the mower can as well mulch as rear-discharge and bag the clippings.
You have three functions in one mower.
3-in-1 option means that you have the choice between bagging and discharge. Optionally
you can buy an additional mulch kit which is available as accessory. With this accessory
you have 3 functions in one mower, without the mulch kit you have only two functions.
4-in-1 option has the 3-in-1 posibilities plus side-discharge function.
Bagging:
Bagging is recommended for those
who don´t have the time to mow very
often and want to have a clean looking well-groomed garden as well.
Besides that, bagging has the advantage to take debris such as leaves and dead grass out and make
room for light and water. In return,
the garden needs a good amount of
water for a healthy appearance and
the grass needs to be disposed into
a composter, a green bag or just an
invisible area.
When bagging the clippings, the resistance on the cutting blade is less
than when mulching because grass
is cut once and directly transported
into the bag. Therefore, energy consumption is in favor of bagging.
Mulching:
Mulching is recommended for wellgroomed gardens and for people
who have the ability to mow at least
twice a week during high season.
When mulching, the grass swirls
around the cutting deck and is thus
being cut several times until particles are so small that they will fall
through the blades onto the ground.
As grass consists almost 90 % of
water, it is recycled back into the
soil and not lost. It can be used as
a natural green fertilizer. The smaller
the particles are, the better groomed the garden looks and less debris lies on top of the grass.
When mulching, the grass which
should be cut should have a length
of maximum 1 - 2 cm. Energy consumption will raise dramatically with
length of grass as the resistance
gets higher with extra grass volume.
Discharge:
When discharging the clippings, the
grass is usually released through an
opening on the side or rear of the
cutting deck and spread back onto
the garden. This type of lawn care is
usually recommended for more natural meadows that don´t need cutting as frequently as well-groomed
gardens and that grow higher.
Usually, these conditions do not
persist around the house as the
grass debris will end up in the
house, pool or walkways.
The resistance on the blade is almost identical to bagging but backpressure from a grass catcher is
absent, so discharging is the most
energy efficient method to mow.

Quick and easy to set up
The intuitive menu system on the LC display makes it easy to enter the mowing
program, while the area to be mown can
be quickly defined in just a few steps.
Simply lay the boundary wire around the
area to be mown and secure it in the
ground with the included solid plastic
pegs. You can exclude obstacles like bushes or ponds, while hard objects as i.
e. a tree are automatically detected and
avoided.
All Lawnkeeper come with stainless steel
blades which will last for up to a whole
season. The strong blades in combination with the continuously variable cutting height enable the mower to cut high
grass and manage the first cut of the
season. No need to use a conventional
mower.

In edge-cutting mode, the Lawnkeeper mows the edges of the lawn twice

Lawnkeeper is impressive. They are on
the lawn only for a short time due to their
high efficiency. The Lawnkeeper 1800�s
and 3000�s high efficiency is achieved
through its wide cut of 56 cm.

The Lawnkeeper comes with a battery
maintenance kit. Connected up to this
system, it can spend the winter safely in
your garage or tool-shed and the trickle
charge keeps the battery healthy.

Remote control
The remote control is a useful accessory if you want to mow the grass without
automatic programming, for example in
hard to reach corners of the garden, or if
you want to manoeuvre the Lawnkeeper
from the main mowing zone to an additional separate zone. You can operate
both the blades and the steering via remote control.
The Lawnkeeper’s mulching system
cuts the grass into tiny particles at up to
4.000 rpm. This also “irrigates” the lawn,
because grass consists of 90 % water.
No need to compost or dispose of the
clippings. Mulching is a natural fertilizer
however it cannot provide all nutrients.
Please ask your local dealer for special
fertilizer for robotic mowers.
The blade can be replaced on all Lawnkeeper models with the included blade
removal tool within seconds.
To recharge the battery, the Lawnkeeper
has to return to the charging station. It
uses the boundary wire as a guide and
follows it back to the charging station,
but always on a slightly different route.
This means that it does not leave tracks
in the lawn.

The housing of the mower and the blades have to be cleaned more often if the
grass is mown in the rain. To avoid this,
there is a rain sensor which prevents the
mower from starting or let it stop mowing
and return to the base station when it‘s
raining. The sensitivity of the sensor to
moisture can be individually set using the
menu.

Sensors and switches ensure that the
Lawnkeeper switches off as soon as it
is lifted up or tilted. Bump sensors react
to fixed obstacles immediately and the
mower changes direction.

mower which is perfect for the right lawn care. The grass is cut several times and then equally
distributed onto the ground. There it can be used as a natural green fertilizer. You can save high
amounts of fertilizers – this is good for the environment and for your moneybag, too.
Another benefit of a mulching mower is that there is no collecting or disposal of the grass clippings
needed. You do not have to interrupt your work to empty the grass catcher. Thus, you will save time.

The deck is especially formed for excellent mulching
function. The grass swirls around under the cutting
deck and is being cut several times until the clippings
are so small that they will fall down to ground. As
grass consists almost 90 % of water, mulching will
keep the lawn humid, especially in dry periods and
once the grass clippings have rotten, they act as a
natural fertilizer.

What is the right deck size for my lawn tractor?
Cub Cadet lawn tractor deck sizes range from 76 cm to 127 cm, and the correct deck size greatly depends on the amount
of lawn to be mowed. The information below will help you to choose the right deck size for your needs.
Cutting size and cutting method matter! How many m² can you mow in 1 hour?
Example 1: Collecting: with a cutting width of 76 cm you may mow 1.400 m² within 1 hour including 7-8 dumps of the
grass catcher.
Example 2: Mulching or Discharge: with a cutting width of 76 cm you may mow 2.000 m² in 1 hour.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TRANSMISSIONS
TRANSMISSION
The Transmatic transmission allows shift-on-the-go speed control. Simply choose the driving
direction, set the desired basic speed with the speed shift lever on the dashboard and release
the brake/clutch pedal. Push the pedal to slow down or press it full way forward to stop. By
releasing the brake pedal, the tractor automatically resumes your preset speed.
TRANSMISSION
The AutoDrive™ transmission is maintenance free. It can be compared with the automatic
transmission of a car. The speed can simply be adjusted with the foot pedal. With the gear
selector lever you simply choose forward or reverse direction. You don’t have to bother with
clutching. Both hands remain on the steering wheel.

DIRECT COLLECT
All our rear discharge tractors are designed
to transport the grass clippings into the grass
catcher in the shortest way. All 700 SERIES
rear discharge models feature a 210 L or 240 L
grass catcher. They are made of durable fabric
for flexibility and for air passage to guarantee
the air flow and perfect collection. The hard top
controls dust and reduces noise. The convenient
handle makes emptying from the operator seat
comfortable and easy.

Clean out system
Pulling a lever on the right side of the seat, the chute opens in the
area of the deck and the clogged grass can fall out. The grass on
the rear plate and on the bag full indicator is pushed into the grass
bag. This clean out system can be operated while the blades are
running. It is also perfect in combination with the deck wash nozzle
as the grass will not end up in the bag. The overflow will be closed.
The result is a better collection of light debris and autumn leafs.

extensive orchards. The infinitely hydrostatic transmission together with the cruise control allows for convenient working.
With the chevron style rear wheels you have a reliable traction even in muddy condition or on excessive slopes.

Driving forward:
Slowly and evenly move both drive control
levers forward. The mower will start to move
forward. As the control levers are pushed
further forward, the speed of the mower
will increase. To slow the tractor move the
control levers rearward to attain the desired
speed or move the levers to the neutral position to stop the mower.
Turning to the left:
Turning to the right:
To turn to the left, move the left drive
control lever rearward of the right
lever.
To turn to the right, move the right
drive control lever rearward of the left
lever. The greater the distance between the two levers, the sharper the
mower will turn.
Driving reverse:
Executing a zero-turn:
To drive the mower in reverse, slowly
and evenly move both drive control
levers rearwards.
To execute a zero-turn, move one
control lever forward while simultaneously moving the other control
lever rearward.

Thanks to the Cub Cadet garden tiller RT 65, the strenuous and time-consuming work of digging and loosening the soil
by spade is a thing of the past.
Powerful and reliable, the tiller tackles any job – it breaks up even hard soil and facilitates seed preparation. It is ideal for
areas of up to 1000 m². Four self-sharpening, heat-treated, high-quality tine sets made of spring steel ensure excellent
work results at a tilling width of 46 cm. The adjustable depth bar gives the machine better stability and allows the working
speed and tilling depth to be controlled. The tiller has a forward and a reverse gear and is easy to maneuver. Acceleration,
transmission and working direction can be controlled from the operator's position. The handle which is freely adjustable

The Cub Cadet Leaf Vacuum/Shredder model CSV 060 turns aking manual autumn leaf collection into fun. Your garden
will be clean in next to no time. Driven by a powerful Cub Cadet 4-cycle engine, the CSV 060 is vacuuming leafs and grass
clippings with ease. With a vacuum volume of 34 m³/min the 61cm wide vacuum nozzle provides the right performance
for the entire garden cleaning.
Vacuum hose
Alternatively the included 2 m long vacuum hose with long grip and nozzle can be used to clean areas which are hard to
reach. Simply flip the switch on the vac front nozzle to change from nozzle to hose function to clean under bushes or along
a wall fast and effective.
Shredder blades
Internal shredder blades are reducing the volume of leafs and small twigs in a relation of up to 10:1. After vacuuming and
shredding the material is automatically transferred into the felt catcher.
Separate chipper chute
Twigs and branches up to a max. diameter of 38mm can get chipped by feeding them into the separate chipper chute. Two
rotating hardened steel blades convert branches to fine mulch.

Scarifying is an important part of the perfect lawn care. It helps to fight against the notorious thatch
which is formed in every lawn and is blocking the supply of air, water and nutrients to the roots.
Correct scarifying will let the lawn breathe again. The Cub Cadet scarifier CC V 40 B will bring the
right power to remove this thatch so that sunlight, air and water can reach again the soil and roots.
Above that, the CC V 40 B disposes of blades and springs. This allows for two functions in one
machine: aerating and scarifying.

The CC V 40 B has 17 flail double blades and 16
double springs. This combination allows for two
functions in one machine – for aerating and scarifying. If you would like to aerate the soil of your
garden, use the higher position with a gentle touch
of the blades and springs on the surface of the soil.
If there is the need to scarify, use a deeper position
of the blades and springs which allows having a
more aggressive action on the surface.
