Almost three decades after launching one of contemporary music’s
most diverse careers, Bruce Hornsby still makes joyful noise by tapping
into a variety of genres, including pop, jazz, bluegrass, country, and
modern classical. Known for his instantly identifiable sound, Hornsby is a
songwriter at heart, committed to portraying his songs in changing ways
that allow them to expand organically. He has pushed his artistic limits
over the years, collaborating with the likes of Ricky Skaggs, the Grateful
Dead, Bob Dylan, Spike Lee, and many more.
Nothing better illustrates this collaborative spirit than Hornsby’s
communion with longtime band the Noisemakers, a powerhouse
ensemble with impressive musical chops. The group comprises JV Collier
on bass, JT Thomas on keyboards, Gibb Droll on guitar, Ross Holmes on
fiddle, and Moyes Lucas on drums.

Two notes. That’s all it takes to recognize the voice of Michael
McDonald. Distinctive and soulful, it is one of the most yearningly
emotive instruments of our time. Add to this formidable songwriting
and keyboard skills, and you have an artist who has been a singular
musical presence for four decades.
From ’70s-era Doobie Brothers classics such as “What A Fool Believes”
and solo hits like “I Keep Forgettin’” through two highly acclaimed
Motown albums, genre-busting guest spots, and innovative concept
shows, the five-time Grammy Award-winning McDonald is both timeless
and ever evolving.

UB40 has dominated charts around the world since 1983, when their Labour
of Love album, featuring a now-famous cover of Neil Diamond’s “Red Red
Wine,” became a breakout hit. The Birmingham reggae troupe proceeded
to take their smooth-yet-rootsy musical blend to all corners of the globe,
selling 70 million records and producing catchy chart-toppers like “(I Can’t
Help) Falling in Love With You” and “I Got You Babe,” a duet with the
Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde.
When vocalist Astro and keyboard player Mickey Virtue
rejoined forces with lead singer and principal songwriter Ali
Campbell, the spirit of their old band was never going to
be far from the surface. The three founding members have
reunited to bring audiences the trademark sound of UB40,
the iconic reggae pioneers.

“The Jimi Hendrix
of the bagpipes...”
-The Miami Herald
Friday, October 9, 2015 | 7:30pm | $20 - $39
From Galicia in the northwest corner of Spain comes a surprising music with ancient
Celtic roots and modern Spanish energy, a tradition that is now celebrating a joyous
renaissance. All this and more is embodied in the music and career of one of Galicia’s
most revered artists, Carlos Núñez.
A pennywhistle, ocarina, and flute piper, Núñez is the undisputed master of
Galicia’s signature musical instrument, the gaita, or Galician bagpipes. “What
the flamenco guitar is to the south, the gaita is to the north,” he explains.
Núñez is already known in Irish music thanks to his early “adoption” by the
Chieftains, his close relationship with the band earning him the title of “Seventh
Chieftain.” His recent work showcases his groundbreaking range and depth — the
stunning list of guest artists includes Linda Ronstadt, Los Lobos, Jackson Browne, and
Sinéad O’Connor. Further collaborations with flamenco musicians, Scottish and Irish
accordionists, operatic sopranos, and samba stars have established Núñez’s work as a
cultural cornucopia that brings Galician music to all corners of the world.

The quintessential backstage musical comedy classic, 42nd Street is the
song and dance fable of Broadway with an American Dream story and
includes some of the greatest songs ever written, such as “We’re In The
Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off To Buffalo,” “Dames,” “I
Only Have Eyes For You,” and of course “42nd Street.”
Based on a novel by Bradford Ropes and Busby Berkeley’s 1933 movie,
42nd Street tells the story of a starry-eyed young dancer named Peggy
Sawyer who leaves her Allentown home and comes to New York to
audition for the new Broadway musical Pretty Lady. When the star
breaks her ankle, Peggy takes over and becomes a star. With a book by
Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble, music by Harry Warren, and lyrics
by Al Dubin, this sparkling new production is directed by co-author
Mark Bramble and choreographed by Randy Skinner, the team who
staged the 2001 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival.

Heartwarming holiday concert
Saturday, December 5, 2015 | 7:30pm | $39 - $65
Two decades since she became the youngest Grammy Award winner in
history, LeAnn Rimes continues to inspire audiences with her heartfelt
vocals. The country pop darling’s rise to fame began at age thirteen with the
Top 10 hit “Blue,” the song that made her the first country music singer to
win the Best New Artist Grammy. A string of country chart-toppers followed,
including “One Way Ticket (Because I Can),” “The Light in Your Eyes,” and a
soulful rendition of “Unchained Melody.” Beyond the country charts, Rimes
is well-known for her widespread crossover success. Her wildly popular
version of “How Do I Live” is the second-longest charting song ever on the
Billboards Hot 100, and her pop hit “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” from the
popular movie Coyote Ugly, peaked at #1 around the world.
This heartwarming holiday concert features selections from Rimes’ new
Christmas album, including “Carol of the Bells,” “I Want a Hippopotamus for

Celebrating their twenty-fifth anniversary, this quintessential a cappella
sextet is the original torchbearer of the vocalist craze, having paved the
way for popular competitions like NBC’s explosive show The Sing-Off,
as well as the mania over vocal-driven comedy-dramas like Glee and
Smash. Heralded by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the
planet,” six virtuosic voices unite in crystal clear harmony against
a backdrop of syncopated rhythms, innovative arrangements, and
funky grooves that bubble into an intoxicating brew of gospel, jazz,
R&B, and pop. The group has toured across the globe, collaborated
across genres, and is recognized as the pre-eminent a cappella group

This lively celebration sees two acclaimed string duos taking the stage
together for a night of fiddling fun!
With a career spanning thirty years, Alasdair Fraser has long been regarded as
Scotland’s premier fiddle ambassador, earning a long list of awards, accolades,
television credits, and feature performances on soundtracks for movies like
Titanic and The Last of the Mohicans. Natalie Haas is redefining the role of the
cello in traditional music. Together, the two have reunited the cello and fiddle as
Scotland’s historical dance band of choice, displaying dazzling teamwork and a
shared passion for improvising on the melody, swapping melodic and harmonic
lines and trading rhythmic riffs to critical acclaim.
Musicians of enormous talent, Jay Ungar and Molly Mason draw their
inspiration from a wide range of musical styles, including Appalachian,
Cajun, Celtic, country, and swing. The pair achieved international acclaim
when their award-winning recording of Jay’s composition “Ashokan
Farewell” became the musical hallmark of Ken Burns’ PBS documentary The
Civil War. Their enthusiasm for music and dance traditions, particularly their
signature folk waltzes, have made them one of the most celebrated duos on
the American acoustic music scene.

It can be convincingly argued that no band has done more than
Solas to prove that Celtic music today is a truly universal musical
language, like jazz, rock, or bluegrass. The signature IrishAmerican band persists as one of the most popular, influential,
and exciting groups to emerge over the past two decades.
Solas—Gaelic for “light”—first burst onto the Irish music scene
in 1996 in a manner befitting their name and instantly became
a beacon, an incandescent ensemble that found contemporary
relevance in timeless traditions without ever stooping to clichés.
Through fresh and unexpected arrangements of age-old tunes,
compelling and topical originals and covers, and unparalleled
musicianship, Solas continues to define the path for the Celtic

spectacular new production. Blue collar Brooklynite Tony Manero lives
for Saturday nights, when the local nightclub comes to life under the
spell of the disco beat, and Tony becomes king of the dance floor. When
a major dance competition is announced, he convinces the beautiful and
talented Stephanie to be his partner.
Based on the 1977 mega-hit movie starring John Travolta, Saturday Night
Fever is packed with legendary hits from the Bee Gees, including “Night
Fever,” “Jive Talking,” “You Should Be Dancing,” “How Deep is Your
Love,” and “Stayin’ Alive.”
“Hit song after hit song, bright lights and dancing to blow you away.”
– BBC
“The show’s unique blend of poignancy and perpetual optimism coupled
with the brilliance of the Bee Gees score and breathtaking choreography
should provide dazzlingly delightful nights for years to come.”
