Merry Christmas! Can you believe it is already here?
I want you to really enjoy this holiday season.
As you know, each day is a gift. Christmas can be
exciting and special. But it can also be stressful ,
overwhelming and even somber for some.
As far as the eating goes, I would suggest
tightening up your eating plan and exercising more
whenever possible so you can enjoy the wonderful
holiday foods and treats without gaining unwanted
pounds! It is a busy time of year, so you have to be
organized. Make lists and don’t be afraid to change past
holiday traditions that just about put you over the edge!
Montereau has some special things for you this
month! Christmas light tours, the Variety Show, the
Chorus Performance, the Merry Mingle, the Christmas
Story and much more! So whether you are busy with
your family or alone, please partake in some of the
special activities with your Montereau family.
Life isn’t always easy. I take great comfort in the
true meaning of Christmas! “For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon
his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of
Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Fend off the Flu
Its that time of year again... Flu Season. This winter, follow
these simple guidelines to protect yourself:
Avoid Close Contact: Keep your distance from people who
show signs of being sick. When you’re sick, stay away from
others to protect them too.
Cover your mouth and nose: Use a tissue when coughing
or sneezing to prevent those around you from getting sick.
Wash Your Hands: Washing your hands often will help
protect you from germs. If soap and water are not available,
use an alcohol-based hand rub.
Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Nose or Mouth: Germs are
often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose
or mouth.
Practice Other Good Health Habits: Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, especially if someone is ill.
Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress,
drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
The Montereau Goal Diggers are champions of the Fall
2013 Session! We want to thank all of the residents for
coming out and supporting us! We couldn’t have done it
with you! We are taking a break for the holidays and hope
to start back up early next year.
Get Vaccinated: The single best way to prevent seasonal flu
is to get the vaccination each year.
For more information about preventing the flu, go to
www.flu.gov.
