Nicky Hays had three victories in six main events en
route to becoming the 2015 SuperKarts! USA California
ProKart Challenge TaG Junior champion. It was his second straight championship season in SKUSA’s California
PKC. Hays was the S5 Junior Stock Moto title in 2014.
Hays has been racing karts since age five. He was the
Micro Max champion in 2009 in both the Jim Russell
Norcal Rotax Series and Gatorz Karting Cup and ProKart
S5 champion in the Los Angeles Karting Club in 2014.
Hays was fourth in the Rotax Challenge of the Americas Micro Max championship in 2010, ninth in 2011 and
fourth in 2012 in the Rotax Challenge of the Americas
Mini Max championship. He drove in the Challenge of
the Americas Junior Rotax and SKUSA’s TaG Junior in
2013.

SKUSA Pro Tour opener at the Phoenix
Kart Racing Track in Glendale, Ariz., on
May 2 and was 12th in the second main
event on May 3. Hays finished 13th and
16th in the two main events at the Pro
Tour’s SummerNationals in July at New
Castle, Ind., and is seventh in the championship going into the final round at Las
Vegas.
Nicky Hays is a second-generation racer,
inspired by his father Rich’s career as a
driver in SCCA and NASA club racing and
as a crew chief and mechanic on semi-pro
and professional race teams.

“When Nicky was about four, I started to
move away from racing cars and started
karting recreationally with him,” Rich Hays
explains. “It was the best decision in motorsports that I ever made”
Nicky Hays also is a classical and jazz pianist. He’s been playing the piano since age
five. He’s been training in karate since age
seven.
Hays finished seventh in S5 the main event
at the 2014 Superkarts! USA SuperNationals
at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.
