Schweitzer is the “guiding spirit” of Chapman University. This is just one of the busts of this great humanitarian that can be found on campus. Located behind the Reference Desk. La Orana Maria Tale of Genji Twenty-four prints depicting scenes from chapters of the Japanese classic, Tale of Genji, written just after 1000 A.D. by Lady Murasaki Shikibu, and considered the world’s first novel.
