• DEADLINE FOR ENTRY FORM: JULY 7, 2015. Exhibits cannot be accepted unless an entry blank is properly filled out and on file with
the Fair office prior to the closing date for entries. DUE TO THE COMPUTER ENTRY PROGRAM, YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO MAIL YOUR
ENTRY BLANK IN AHEAD OF ENTRY DAY. The Fair management is not bound to accept entries made after the deadline. Use separate
entry blanks for each department (i.e. flowers, needlework, etc.).
• Competition is open to North Dakota residents only.
• Any article, having been properly entered, can be forwarded by mail or prepaid express to Dept. 113, ND State Fair, PO Box 1796, Minot
ND 58702, who will then place the goods on exhibition The management however, will not be responsible for any breakage of glass or
loss of any article. Send complete list of articles contained in the package. Mailed exhibits must reach the Fair office no later than noon
Monday, July 13.
• Exhibitors in this division may bring their exhibits to the 4-H Hall in the ND State Fair Center on Friday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on
Monday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. No entries will be accepted after the deadline. Judging will begin Tuesday, July 14 at 8:30 a.m.
• EXHIBITS WILL NOT BE RELEASED BEFORE 6 P.M. ON THE LAST DAY. Exhibits may be picked up on Saturday, July 25 between the
hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. or on Sunday, July 26 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A claim check must be shown before release. The building
will close at 8 p.m. Saturday, July25. Those picking up exhibits on Saturday, July 25 must pay gate admission.
• No person can enter more than one item under the same lot
number in any class. The “any other” lot is for items not listed.
• The judges are instructed not to award prizes unless the
articles are deemed of real merit, even though they may be the
only entry in the lot.
• Best of Show ribbons will be awarded in each department at
the discretion of the judge.
• Any article exhibited in prior years at the North Dakota
State Fair is ineligible to show.
• Please enter exhibit under person’s name who made it.
• Unless exhibits comply with these rules, they will not be
accepted.
Cash awards will be mailed September 2015.

100% of monies sponsored by North Dakota quilt guilds and quilt shops
will be added to premiums in this division. Quilts including more than
one technique should be entered in the category of the predominant
technique. All quilts must be constructed and quilted by the person
entering them, except for the “commercially quilted” and “group
categories.” The term “Machine Quilted” indicates that the person
entering the quilt did the quilting on a home sewing machine or on their
own longarm machine. A quilt is a fabric sandwich (three layers) held
together with hand or machine quilting stitches. Mixed techniques must
have at least 2 techniques, i.e., piecing, applique, embroidery, trapunto,
folding, etc. No hanging rods please. The State Fair reserves the right to
move an entry to another lot or combine with another lot as needed.

Machine Embroidery Contest
Vacuum & Sewing Center of Minot will sponsor the Machine
Embroidery Contest. Your imagination, creativity and originality will
determine the winner of this contest. Embroidered landscape
scenery, machine cross-stitch, embroidered quilt designs, or
whatever you like, as long as it is embroidered. The contest will be
judged on the use of your imagination in designing. The more
unique the better! Only machine sewn entries will be accepted.
Winners will recieve a gift card for any product as Vacuum & Sewing
Center of Minot.
