knights - a whimsical experience of new heights.

Calling all space cadets! In a galaxy not so far away, you can help explore

SESSION 4 (July 6-10): “PIRATES OF TIBURON COVE”
Shiver me timbers, and yo-ho, yo-ho! Let's set sail on a scalawag adventure and
go! We'll search for treasure the pirate way, and pick a shipmate to walk the plank
every day. So strap on your boots and let's scavenge for loot.

Hello there guys, gals, and Seussy-pals! You could not, would not want to miss a
camp week such as this! We'll create, play, and have great fun with all our friends
from the Great Seuss-dom! Please SAY, SAY you'll come!
SPECIAL ACTIVITY: Sesame Street Jumpee and Seuss-tacular Soiree (dress
as your favorite Dr. Seuss character)
SESSION 6 (July 20-24): “BLAZING SADDLES”
Howdy, pardners! Come gather 'round! There's gonna be some bonafide cowpoke
fun in this ole town. Let's flock like sheep to the barnyard “zoo” for a farmtastic time
with all the buckaroos!

SESSION 7 (July 27-31): “FUN IN THE SUN”
Splish splash, it's gonna be a week-long beach bash! Strawberry slushies and
lemonade squeezes, ocean creatures and warm summer breezes! So don't forget
your flip flops and hula on over to surf shop.
SPECIAL ACTIVITY: Bubble Pit (come in swim gear underneath regular
clothes & bring a towel)
SESSION 8 (August 3-7): “WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE”
Swing on by! Who knows what you'll see? Could it be a lion or a monkey in the
tree? Perhaps it's a giraffe who stretches his neck to see, or the elephant who
waves his trunk with glee. Let out your best roar, and see what wild fun's in store!

Dabble in Art
This summer, Dabble in Art will be returning.
It is an exciting new studio art & crafts
program of the BTCCC. Dabble in Art
programming is available daily to any
student enrolled in the BTCCC summer
camp program. Each week the program will
feature single session, multi-session, and
collaborative projects. Single session
projects can be completed in one day; multisession projects are for children who enjoy
planning and executing a project over a 3-5
day period; and collaborative projects are
designed to encourage artistic expression
as well as social skill development.
Many projects will be literature-based for
our Dolphins program. Selected stories will
explore social themes such as friendship,
determination, love, and bravery. These
classic and contemporary stories, and their
exquisite illustrations, will be the
springboard for both discussion and artistic
creativity. Some projects for the Sharks will
include “In the Style Of” projects in which
children will learn about the lives and artistic
style of artists such as Van Gogh, Calder,
Matisse, Dine, Thiebaud and many others.
Children are sometimes reluctant to try art
activities because they feel they are not
“good” at drawing, or representational art.
That is, a child may decline to participate in
an activity exploring cave art because they
are not comfortable attempting to draw
realistic looking animals. Although drawing
instruction will be included in the program,
representational art will be deemphasized.
Projects requiring 2- and 3-D construction
and assembly will provide children with
opportunities to create and build, and will
foster the development of both perceptual
and fine motor skills as well as exposure to
a wide variety of mediums including paper,
clay, paint, beadwork, crayons, oil and
chalk pastels, foil, and more.
