KHURMALA POWER PLANT-1000MW, KHURMALA BLOCK, KURDISTAN/ IRAQ ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT ADDENDUM (1) ADDENDUM "1" AN UPDATE STUDY OF THE ORIGINAL EIA REPORT ISSUED IN MAY 2013 1) FURTHER AMBIENT AIR QUALITY ANALYSIS 2) WIND DIRECTION/ SPEED ASSESSMENT October 2013 KHURMALA POWER PLANT-1000MW, KHURMALA BLOCK, KURDISTAN/ IRAQ ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT ADDENDUM (1) - Introduction KAR Power, Member of the KAR Group ("Company"), organised and existing under the laws of the Republic of Iraq, having its registered office at Naz City, Building J, 1st Floor, Gulan Street, Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. Company, intends to develop a Gas Power Plant (Khurmala Power Plant-1000MW) for electricity power generation located within the administrative border of Erbil/ Kurdistan Region of Iraq Map A1. An Environmental Impact Assessment ("EIA") study was performed by MapCom on behalf of Company in May 2013 for above mentioned project. Company has decided to conduct an update (the “Updated Study”) of the original EIA study issued in May 2013 to comply with its corporate standards and general specifications. Company has invited MapCom Environmental Consultants ("MapCom ") to prepare the Updated Study for above activity, in compliance with local, national, and international standards. - Work Scope This addendum is intended to: 1) Perform wind direction and speed analysis at a reproducible location at Khurmala site to determine the main wind direction Map A2. 2) The emission measurements as given in the original EIA report will be updated by: · Repeated measurements at the existing 5 measuring points including wind direction and speed. · Increase the number of measurement points to a total of 10 Map A2. · Each point will be measured repeatedly 5 times within 2 weeks.
