Most types of bike. Trail: Relatively flat & wide. Suitable for Riders in good health with basic off-road riding skills. Basic mountain bikes. Red difficult Black Severe Suitable for Proficient mountain bikers with good off-road riding skills & fitness. Good mountain bikes. Suitable for Expert mountain bikers with high level of fitness. Quality off-road mountain bikes. Trail Challenging. Climbs, tricky descents & technical features such as drop-offs & large rocks. Trail Greater challenge & difficulty. Expect large & unavoidable features. Trail Some “single-track” sections & small obstacles of root & rock. Suitable for Extreme level riders with expert technical skills & good fitness. Technical bike skills important. Jumping ability obligatory. Trail Extreme levels of exposure & risk, large features. Suitable for cyclists with a moderate level of off-road experience and keen mountain bikers, this exciting trail explores the wooded slopes of the Cardinham Valley. You’ll find challenges along the way while you take in the sights and sounds the woodland has to offer. You will encounter a number of technical climbs and descents, snaking single track trail and features such as tight bermed corners, small step downs, rollers and table tops. All features can be rolled over at a moderate speed. The trail is exposed to steep unfenced side slopes in places. RED (DIFFICULT) GRADE There are two sections of difficult red grade trail, which loop off of the main Bodmin Beast. These options will add up to 30 mins to your ride, and are only suitable for proficient mountain bikers. Dialled-In Dave (Difficult) Find the right non single track for you Orange Extreme BLUE GRADE (Moderate) DISTANCE – 12KM (7.5 MILES) 1-2 hours Forest road & similar Suitable for Cyclists in good health. Map reading useful (routes not always marked.) Most bikes. Trail Gradients can vary. Surfaces may be uneven or potholed in places. Look out for vehicles & other users. DISTANCE 900m (0.5 mile) 5 mins Natural, flowing and fast; this is an ideal introduction to Red grade single track and a great place to develop your trail riding skills. Berms, rock climbs, step downs and a variable surface take the challenge up a notch. Hell’s Teeth (Difficult) DISTANCE 1.8km (1 mile) 15-20 mins Hell’s teeth, it’s steep! After a tough climb, with some very steep sections, you’ll be rewarded at the top with some narrow, flowing trail featuring numerous technical features. The trail ends with a steep, bermed descent back down the hillside, before rejoining the main trail. Be aware that mobile phone signal is poor right across the site. When riding alone, always tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back. Not every site contains a full range of trails.
