Wednesday, December 4 Joe Theismann December We welcome Joe Theismann, former pro football quarterback and father of Greensboro Rotarian Patrick Theismann. He will discuss the relationship between the world of business, the world of sports and our own lives. 4 Board of Directors Meeting, 11:30AM 4Joe Theismann, Super Bowl Champion NFL quarterback 11Holiday Luncheon, 12Noon – 2PM, Greensboro Country Club Joe achieved his most enduring fame in his 12 seasons playing for the Washington Redskins, where he was a two-time Pro Bowler and quarterback of the winning team in Super Bowl XVII. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003. Theismann was also an All-American, Academic All-American and Heisman Trophy runner-up during his collegiate career at Notre Dame. 18Bob Brueggeworth, CEO, RF Micro Devices Following his retirement from football, Theismann began a career as a sportscaster. He worked as an analyst with ESPN, primarily with Mike Patrick, for the network’s Sunday Night Football package and for one season of Monday Night Football with Mike Tirico and Tony Kornheiser. The Greensboro Rotary Club will present the Guilford County High School Defensive & Offensive Player of the Year awards at our meeting on December 4. These awards will be based upon the season’s body of work of the Guilford County high school players nominated by coaching staffs. The player of the year award places significant emphasis on the leadership, academics and character influences the player has had in his school and in his role with his team.
