G.C. PARTECIPAZIONI owns 147 hectares of greenhouses, 85 of which
operating on the Candela production site and it is now the largest greenhouse in Europe as well as being the most technologically advanced and
environmentally friendly, due to the use of a co-generation system and the
implementation of innovative solutions for the use of water.
G.C. PARTECIPAZIONI organizes and manages its entire sector supply
chain, through its international sales network, through the fulfillment of the
highest quality standards, checked daily by operators at international auctions both in Germany and the Netherlands, and the constant work of its
researchers, agronomists and engineers.
A RAINBOW SPANNING
HALF A CENTURY
OF HISTORY
G.C. PARTECIPAZIONI started up more than half a century ago, thanks to
its founders, Paolo and Nina, who had a dream, to spread a rainbow over
a country emerging from the drabness of the War. In 1960 Paolo and Nina
built a small wooden greenhouse in their vegetable patch in front of the
cemetery in Molfetta (Puglia, Italy), in which they planted the very first roses, chrysanthemums and carnations. This work bore its fruit very soon, picturing a rainbow before their eyes. This sight recurred again and again over
three generations.

PIONEERS IN ENERGY
EFFICIENCY APPLIED
TO AGRICULTURE
Energy saving is surely one of the nodal points that modern agriculture will
face in the coming years and in which our company is strongly engaged.
Within this context, in 2004, an agreement was signed with Edison to use
the waste thermal energy of their power plants to heat our greenhouses. This is how the largest greenhouses in Europe, the production plant in
Candela (FG) was built. This agreement allowed Italy to become the pioneer country in the application of an experimental model for CO₂ emission
reduction before both the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol and the
subsequent 20/20/20 Plan launched by the EU.
This agreement enabled G.C. PARTECIPAZIONI to become an Energy Farm
giving rise to best practices exportable all over the world.
