Twilight Golf Update On May 18th, Chamber Members teed it up at Cambrian Ridge on the Loblolly Course. About 19 members were present to hit the links and have lots of fun. This was a lighter crowd than usual. It seemed as though lots of folks were busy with graduation or a prior engagement of some sort. For more information call 334-376-2396. Camellia Girl Scholarship The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce awarded it’s first-ever $500.00 scholarship to a Camellia Girl/Chamber Page this year. The scholarship fund was set-up to promote our program and award a deserving senior. Applicants were asked to submit community service hours, participate in Chamber activities and write an essay entitled “What are your Hopes for Greenville by the Year 2013.” Casey Rogers, a senior at Fort Dale Academy was selected as the recipient. Casey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Rogers. Casey will be attending the University of Alabama in the fall. We hope the scholarship program will continue to grow! Call the Chamber, 382-3251! 2009 Achiever Award As always, the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to partner with the YMCA to sponsor the Achiever Award Scholarship Program. The Program held on May 7th at the First Baptist Church in Greenville, awarded two seniors a $1,500.00 scholarship. We recognized senior male and female athletes from Butler County schools who exemplified the attributes of Christian, community and academic leadership. Recipients of this year’s awards were Charles Windham from McKenzie High School and Amber Andrews from Greenville High School. The Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate these two outstanding students and commend those who were nominated for this prestigious award. Does your business have a plan?
