…we want to wish you a happy and prosperous holiday season, and
hope that you will remember the many horses at the ASAP farm who
stand, waiting for families to adopt them. Many will never be adopted, having suffered injuries that will
not heal completely. ASAP is there to
provide the care and love they so
deserve, thanks to your gift. Bob
Cook, Arne, Steelin Apples,Miss Molly
P., Strawberry, and Brandy are just a
few of the sanctuary horses who
need support. Still others remain
unadopted due to the economy,
including Taser Gun, Secretly Yours,
Lyric, Bell Valley Titan, Hearts D Sire,
Pinedon, Mick, Fox Valley Festus,
Hononegah, Comet, Kokinos, Rocking
Standout, and others. Still more precious horses are waiting at the tracks
to be moved to the ASAP farm or a
waiting foster family.

A registered 501(c) nonprofit organization
ASAP is a 501 c 3 non profit organization dedicated to finding qualified
homes for horses entrusted to us. In return for the donation of a horse,
individuals receive a tax write-off of up to $5,000 (more with a certified
appraisal). ASAP provides shipping from the stabling site. In the past, monetary contributions did not match the expenses for caring for incoming
horses and their care. Veterinary costs, feed, hay, and farrier costs were the
greatest expenses. We need your help to continue. Plan a fund raiser, sponsor ASAP at a horse-related or racing event, or send what you can to this
cause.
Many of the horses at the ASAP farm
are touching the lives of children and
youth who come to live, learn, and
love. The young people come to learn
horsemanship skills and learn about
the core values of empathy, responsibility, and compassion. This year
Strawberry and Steelin Apples,
McDominant and friend, Jane
despite their minor physical challenges and age, were able to provide
hours of enjoyment to young children and even beginner adult riders
for short distances. Remmie was a key horse during our day camps,
as was Lake Hills Texas, Janimal, Little Jeffrey John, and, of course,
Chief. These horses have touched some lives forever. They deserve
our care and continued well being.
We have had to say a very difficult "farewell" to great race horses
such as Precious KC this year, as well as others who were in adoptive
placements and are sorely missed by their families this holiday season. Life just isn't the same without them but they have left eternal
hoofprints in their hearts.
You have the opportunity to help us continue to help the horses
standing in line, waiting for a new life to begin. Standardbreds are
well-trained, well cared for, friendly, gracious, and willling and able to
learn any new discipline. Standardbreds take easily to the saddle, and
make great 4-H horses. This year two girls ages 8 and 9 took first and
second place ribbons with their Standrdbreds! Still another young
lady took Chief, ASAP Quarter horse Paint, to both the fair and two
horse shows, winning ribbons and
trophies at each of the three shows!
You have the ability to make a child's
dreams come true in 2009. Sponsor
a horse such as Chief, Remmie,
Janimal, or even Taser Gun (gone
from the racing scene but not forgotten!), and help a young boy or girl
discover the magic in relationships
between horse and man. Thank you
for your continuing support as we
head into a hard winter.
Your contributions will go directly to
hay and feed, farrier care, and vet
care for each of the 20+ horses at
ASAP at any given time.
Best wishes to you
and yours from the
horses and volunteers
at ASAP Inc.!
