INSIGHT MAGAZINE 3 → UTILITY POWER PROJECT utility power project Fleet of truck mounted mobile generating sets. I n 2014 AJ Power were approached by a Middle East power utility to provide a mobile 11kV solution for the maintenance of high voltage substations. While they had a low voltage fleet, it was deemed necessary to have an 11kV solution. The container is rigidly mounted on a MAN 6 wheel drive truck with a 50 metre HV cable on a reel at the front to allow connection between the generator and the substation. The generators are currently in production at the AJ Power factory with customer witness testing imminent. Our distributor in Ghana, G&J Technical Services Limited, Generating sets will be put in containers and mounted on truck. A detailed specification was created and the AJ Power enigneering teams designed a solution meeting both performance and statutory road regulations. Each generator (there are 4 in total) develops 1875kVA/1500kW at 11kV and is powered by a Mitsubishi S16RPTA2 engine driving a Stamford Frame 8, 11kV alternator. 4 INSIGHT MAGAZINE (Full project case-study to follow in later edition of InSight.) www.ajpower.net G&J technical services, GHANA → G&J Technical Services LTD GHANA appoint new CEO have recently announced the appointment of Mr. Michael Djan-Sampson as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective from June 1, 2015. This long term investment will increase the production capacity of 33-275kVA models by over 25% per year over the current capacity. Incorporated in the new test cells will be a dedicated ‘Research and Design Station’ where engineers can carry out research in an “off line” scenario. The “R&D” line will be serviced by a selectable production line dock, this dock will form part of the new production lines and will allow for seamless filtering of gensets between the R&D station and the main production lines. Simultaneous testing can also be carried out at all 3 stations ensuring the test cells aren’t congested with projects/ special option generating sets, that have additional testing requirements. 8 INSIGHT MAGAZINE www.ajpower.net soccer stadium → limerick city Football club soccer stadium AJ power - Keeping the lights on We have recently supplied 2 x AJ220 AGCO Power canopied generating sets to the new Limerick City FC soccer stadium at Markets Field, Limerick, Ireland.
