Merry Christmas. (It’s never too early to catch the Christmas spirit!)
This movie event guide will make it easy for you to have your own private benefit
screening of this soon to be Christmas classic, ANGELS SING.
ANGELS SING is a heartfelt story about the importance of family ties, overcoming
tragedy and the undeniable magic of Christmas. This film, beloved by movie goers of
all ages, stars Harry Connick Jr., Connie Britton, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle
Lovett and more! When your supporters come to see your private benefit screening of
ANGELS SING, they will be supporting your local Ronald McDonald House.
I am very excited to tell you that we will select two Chapters from all participating
locations for a $5,000 bonus donation on behalf of ANGELS SING. That means two
lucky RMHC that host the most unique and successful private benefit screenings will be
receiving an additional donation of $5,000 for their event/location.
In this guide, you will discover all the information and resources you need to set up
your successful ANGELS SING private benefit screening event, including a form for us
to reserve a theater in your area, and answers to frequently asked questions.

People love to go to the movies. ANGELS SING is a positive and
entertaining way to engage your community, raise money, and
attract new volunteers and donors to Ronald McDonald House
Charities. We understand you may already have year-end events
planned and limited staff time, but this is such an exciting
opportunity we wanted to make sure you were included. We
have made this an easy and fun way to get everyone in the
Christmas spirit.
How can an ANGELS SING benefit screening raise
money for your RMHC?
1. Raise funds through ticket sales—You can have your own
designated screening at a local theater we will identify for you.
Your theater will offer the ticket at retail value (ex. $10) and will
offer the ticket for your RMHC ANGELS SING fundraiser at a
price of your choice (ex. $20 or $25)
2. Add value to your event—Event Themed Auction Items: We are assembling a list of auction items that we hope to offer
to all participating RMHCs­—we will have that list for you in
early October and are working on autographed items like the
ANGELS SING script, “When Angels Sing” book, possibly
autographed guitars, Christmas items and more. Because this
movie has so many exciting musicians, you will have the
opportunity to offer new albums by Harry Connick, Willie
Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Kat Edmunson and more. In some markets
they will be performing in your city and you can offer concert
tickets in your auction.
3. Add value to your event—Pre-party or after party for VIPs or all your supporters. You can sell VIP level tickets for
example at $50, $75 or $150. VIP ticket holders in addition to
the private movie screening would receive a VIP pre-party
or after party, a dinner at supporter’s home, a concert
happening that night, or a post movie Christmas Karaoke
party—the options are limitless, and we have more
suggestions in our next section of this packet.
4. Sponsors—Bring in a sponsor to cover your costs. They will
enjoy the excitement of hosting a private movie screening as
well as the tax benefits.

to Create a Successful Event
4 Easy Steps
1. Complete and return the Theater Reservation Form to
[email protected]. Once we have your
reservation form, we will determine which local theater will be
the location for your ANGELS SING private benefit screening.
That will determine the cost of tickets and size of theater so
you can then begin to promote your event.
2. Promote your ANGELS SING private benefit screening
through your Ronald McDonald newsletter, e-newsletter, social
media, board of directors, donors, clients, local media partners
and contacts and your volunteers. We will be providing you
with some ANGELS SING promotional examples you can
customize for your individual RMHC.
3. Cover the cost of the movie tickets and
added value events by getting a sponsor
or sponsors for your event.
4. We will follow up with you on how
to work with your local theater
and host your event.
How to Create a Successful Event cont’d
Ideas for Pre- or Post-Parties
1. Tree Trimming Party: One of the best parts about Christmastime is decorating
the tree—after the screening ask guests to join you at your house. Before guests
arrive, set up the tree and string the lights and garland. Take the ornaments out of
storage and place them in baskets so they’re easily accessible. If you’re providing
snacks, make them mess-free: nuts, fruits and veggies, snack mixes or Christmas
cookies. Want ANGELS SING movie inspired treats... serve fruit cake with
jalapeños or snowball desserts.
2. Holiday Hot Chocolate Party: When the winter nights get cold, homemade hot
chocolate hits the spot. Invite guests to gather after the screening at the theater
or your house for a hot chocolate bar. Set up a long table with mugs, spoons, hot
chocolate, and various toppings such as lollipop marshmallows, cinnamon sticks,
chocolate and caramel syrup, and candy canes. This is a perfect event to include
families at your house.
3. Fruitcake Tasting Party: Ask local chefs to create their favorite fruit cake
(jalapeños optional). Have party guests come by and do a taste test of the fruit
cakes. Have a fruit cake rating card and add categories so that people can rate
each fruit cake. Celebrate the chef that wins on your social media or newsletter.
4. White Elephant Gift Exchange: Everyone loves a Christmas party with a wacky gift
exchange. Set a price limit and have each guest bring a pre-wrapped gift. When it’s
time for the exchange, everyone will draw a number and pass the gifts around.
5. Gingerbread House Building Party: Inspire creativity in both kids and adults with
this easy Christmas party idea. To save time, pre-bake and cut the gingerbread
into house shapes beforehand—or use graham crackers as an even quicker
foundation for house building. Set out colored frosting and candies in
easy-to-reach bowls, and lay down paper on the tables so party cleanup is easy.
This is a great way to include families at your house.
6. Christmas Caroling Party or Christmas Carol Karaoke Party: Whether you’re in or
outside, caroling with a group of friends or family is always a soul-warming holiday
party go-to. Sing the Christmas Carols from the ANGELS SING soundtrack and
gather around a keyboard, piano, or fireplace (for a capella caroling) for hours of
simple holiday fun. If it’s not too chilly, bring the party outside and around the
neighborhood for everyone else to enjoy, too! If you don’t have any musicians in
your group, you can rent a very inexpensive Karaoke machine for guaranteed fun
and entertainment. This is a great way to include board members and event donors!

FAQ
1. How will I know what theater will be showing my RMHC private screening of
ANGELS SING?
This depends on your city, contact Liz Fitzgerald at [email protected]
for more information.
2. When can I hold my showing?
Release dates range from November 1-15 and will run through December. Please
provide two preferred dates and estimated size of theater you will need in
your request form (i.e. the number of tickets you think you can sell). We will work
with you to find a date and theater that will work for your RMHC.
3. Can we buy or provide food and drink for my guests at our theater?
Contact Liz Fitzgerald at [email protected] to learn the opportunities
for your theater.
4. How can my RMHC receive one of the two $5000 bonus donations?
ANGELS SING will be selecting two RMHC who make the most creative and
successful effort with their private benefit screenings. One $5000 will go to the
RMHC we think got the most creative, and one $5000 will go to the RMHC that we
think was the most successful, so that any size of RMHC in any market has a chance
to benefit from one of these bonus donations.
5. How can I preview the movie?

6. Will the stars be at my event?
We would love to have stars at every location, but it may not be possible. We will
work with the stars schedule to provide as many locations with talent as possible and
we are working on a PSA for you to have at your event with one of the ANGELS SING
stars thanking your donors for coming to your event and supporting your RMHC.
7. I cannot organize a screening, but I would like to raise money for my RMHC by
selling ANGELS SING tickets, DVD’s, soundtrack, etc. How do I do that?
We are developing other ways for RMHC to benefit from our partnership with
ANGELS SING. If you are interested in adding ANGELS SING DVD’s and other
items to your fundraising options this Christmas, please, contact Liz at
[email protected], and she will let you know as soon as that
program is ready.
