Mecklenburg UCC February 2016 Minutes • • • • Meeting opened at 10:07 by Chair, Matt Barringer Introductions around the room Review of January 2016 minutes. Motion to accept by Sam Gonzalez. Seconded by Roger Richards. Craig Miller, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services, spoke about City & County ordinances regarding run-off, storm drains, discharge, and violations. Containment, storage, and disposal is an issue. You can empty into a private pit that is contained and allow the discharge to dry. For areas over an acre you need a permit from the State of North Carolina. There are rental companies that . supply containers for the discharge Storm Water Services would rather avoid issuing citations and violations and would prefer compliance. Enforcement could include fines up to $5,000.00 per day. Craig will send an email which is a draft he would like the group to review. (email sent) • • • • • • • • • Mecklenburg UCC February 2016 Minutes Discussion amongst group about methods and practices used for containment.
