The Rare 1922/1
Overdate Threepence
What Australian Predecimal Coin is rarer
than the 1930 Penny, yet costs a third of the
price?
The answer is the 1922/1 Overdate
Threepence.
Slabbed F15 by PCGS. The
best of our three coins by a
small amount. Full
ADVANCE AUSTRALIA,
great rims and an almost
full ear on the King.
Fine $9,500.00
Overdates come about when a die is re-engraved with a new
date and the old date is not completely obliterated. In the
Australian Predecimal series this happened on a very small
number of occasions with the most famous, and rarest, of
the overdates being the 1922/1 overdate Threepence.
This issue we take pleasure in presenting three terrific
examples. The 2010 Pocket Guide to Australian Coins and
Banknotes catalogues this coin at VG $9,000.00, Fine
$16,000.00. You can save thousands!
Just a tickle better than the
coin below. This example
has full rims, fully readable
ADVANCE AUSTRALIA
and much of the King’s ear.
A great example.
vg $6,250.00
Strong rims, almost full ADVANCE
AUSTRALIA. Altogether very
attractive.

2011 Ashes Series 20 Cents
The great Sir Donald Bradman said, “Test Cricket is not a light-hearted business,
especially that between England and Australia”. This enduring
sporting rivalry, alive since 1882, the Ashes test series is the
backbone of Australia’s cricket calendar and part of our
national culture.
Played alternately in the summer
months of each nation, the 2010-11
series returns once again to Australian
shores.
The first test will be played at the Gabba
in Brisbane from 25-29 November 2010.
Will the new-look Australia side regain
the Ashes? Or will the confident
Englishmen record an historic (and
rare) victory on Australian soil?
The Ashes 20 Cents is a stunning example of cricket
regalia, featuring a stitched motif designed to
represent a cricket ball, is presented in large card
format similar to previous Ashes coins. This memorable
20 cent coin is certain to
be a proud addition to your collection.

Centenary of Commonwealth
Coinage Miniature Set
Australia's predecimal coins remain favourites with many
collectors. Now, 44 years after decimalisation, miniature
versions of these beloved coins have been faithfully recreated
to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Australian
Commonwealth coinage.
Issued in 1910, the first Australian florin, shilling, sixpence
and threepence featured the George W De Saulles’ crowned
and robed bust of King Edward VII. Australia’s first silver
coins arrived at the same time, but because of the change in
Kings, the bronze penny and half penny appeared a whole year
later, bearing the effigy by Sir E B Mackennal of the new
King George V.
The miniature replicas feature the original designs and
comprise:
One Florin - made from sterling silver
One Shilling - made from sterling silver
Sixpence - made from sterling silver
Threepence - made from sterling silver
One Penny - made from copper
Half Penny - made from copper
The obverse of each replica depicts Sir E B Mackennal's effigy
of King George V. No more than 1,500 numbered sets will be
released by The Perth Mint.

2011 Year of the Rabbit

features a snow bunny. It is struck in 99.9%
Pure Silver with a weight of One
Ounce. The packaging is unusual
as the case incorporates a paw
print. Only 15,000 coins struck.

Stamp-Shaped 1/2 Ounce
Silver Proof
Only $119.95

Stamp-Shaped Silver Proof. The coin is modelled on the 60
cent commemorative stamp issued by Australia Post showing
the best known portrait of Mary MacKillop.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965,
the coin portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the 2010 year-date. The
reverse design features a coloured portrait of Saint Mary
MacKillop and includes a representation of St Mary
MacKillop’s signature, the dates 1842-1909 and the word
AUSTRALIA. It is struck in 99.9% Pure Silver with a weight
of 1/2 Ounce. The coin is struck by the Perth Mint.
Accompanying the coin is an original 60 cents stamp from
Australia Post.

the world’s most abundant sources of
natural riches.
Comprising coins struck from 1oz of
99.99% pure gold and 1oz of 99.9%

Last Predecimal Note Collection
The introduction of Decimal Currency in 1966
brought to an end the old Pounds, Shillings and Pence system that had served us well for almost
200 years. The circulating Predecimal Notes of the time consisted of 10 Shillings, 1 Pound, 5
Pound and 10 Pound - all issued by the Reserve Bank of Australia and signed by Coombs
and Wilson. Over 40 years have passed since the withdrawal of Predecimal notes and
today many people have never seen these items of Australian history. This issue we have
compiled Sets of the last Predecimal Notes. Each 4 note set is presented in a descriptive
album and makes a tremendous memento of times long past.
In FINE condition these Sets catalogue at

Henry Morgan Pirate Dollar
The coin portrays Sir Henry Morgan, one of history’s most
ruthless pirates. Morgan was born to a Welsh farming
family in about 1635. Admiral and privateer, he was
amongst the most successful and most pitiless pirates
who ever worked the Spanish Main. Morgan was
infamous for his habit of torturing hapless captives to
obtain tactical information. Unlike many of his
compatriots, Morgan died in London of illness in 1688.
This is the second aluminium bronze $1 coin issued by The Perth Mint
as legal tender of Tuvalu.
$14.95
The aluminium bronze coin depicts Henry Morgan against the
backdrop of a pirate ship. The design depicts a coloured representation
of a pirate chest, two barrels (hogsheads) and a bottle of rum. The
design incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. In colour Pack.

Two of the most Spectacular
Collections issued anywhere in
the World!
In 1991 the Reserve Bank of Australia delved
into its archives to assemble a spectacular
collection of original Australian Banknotes to mark
the 25th Anniversary of Decimal Currency. From
stocks that had been in storage for a quarter of a
century or more, they assembled a limited number of
Collections comprising the last four Australian
Predecimal Notes (Ten Shillings, One Pound, Five
Pounds and Ten Pounds) and the first four Decimal
Notes (One Dollar, Two Dollars, Ten Dollars and
Twenty Dollars).
As the Reserve Bank had archived the very last
Predecimal Notes and the very first Decimal Notes
produced they were able to match the serial numbers
in an unprecedented manner. All four of the
16
Decimal Notes in this
Collection not only
feature the very first
Prefix but they all
have identical serial
numbers below
1000. To match the
Decimal Notes the Predecimal issues have the very
last Prefix and the final four digits of the serial
numbers match each other and those of the Decimal
Notes. Outside these Collections
such a combination would be
impossible.

Then in 1994 the Reserve Bank decided to produce
another outstanding Decimal Note Collection. From the
very first printing of the $5, $50 and $100 the Triple
Anniversary Collection was assembled. This too
featured Matched Serial numbers and first Prefixes. The
Collection was complete!
This issue we feature these two
magnificent sets. And to make

New Guinea 1929 Proof Halfpenny and Penny Scotland: Alexander III
1280-1286 Penny
At the outbreak of World War I Australian troops landed in
New Guinea and took possession of the German
protectorate. The League of Nations
mandated the Territory of New
Guinea to Australia in 1920
where it remained until the
Japanese occupation in 1942. To
facilitate trade the Melbourne Mint
produced a number of distinctive
holey coins for use in the territory
alongside Australian currency.
The first issues were Pennies and
Halfpennies dated 1929. However,
these coins proved too similar in size and colour
to the Sixpence and Shilling and were promptly returned to the
Melbourne Mint where almost all were remelted.
