D.H. Griffin Contracting, a subsidiary of D.H. Griffin Companies,
was formally the Taft Contracting Co.––one of the largest equipment
installation specialists in the country for over a century. D.H. Griffin
purchased the Carolina Division of Taft Contracting and has developed a
synergic merge of these two dynamic companies.
D.H. Contracting, Inc. is dedicated to providing quality mechanical
construction, technical and management services to our customers. We
will strive to implement a long term relationship with our clients, based
on safety, quality, timely service and an anticipation of their needs. To

D.H. Griffin (DHG) offers you the services of machinery movers, pipe
fitters, millwrights and ironworker who specialize in the rigging, setting,
aligning, leveling, and erecting of all types of machinery, equipment, and
steelwork.
DHG is also world renowned for professional demolition services for
industrial and commercial customers. In addition, we offer turn-key
installation service packages that include electrical, export packaging
and a variety of other miscellaneous construction services.

DHG Contracting worked with
B.A.S.F. to dismantle two
Blending Silos and supporting
steel structures at their Enka, NC
site. The silos weighing 32,000 lbs.
and 22,000 lbs., were transported
to Freeport, Texas where they
were re-installed .
DHG Contracting provided turn key
plant relocation services to move
Gates Rubber Automotive Belt
Assembly plant from Moncks
Corner, SC to Siloam Springs, AR.
DHG Contracting worked with DuPont
Nemours to dismantle, match mark and
relocate a titanium mining concentrator
unit in Starke, Florida.
DHG Contracting in association
with Duke Energy dismantled an
88 M.W. power generation plant
which included complete coal
handling system, 4-hanging boilers,
all structural steel and shipped to
Guatemala for future use.

DHG Contracting dismantled two nitric acid plants for Dyno
Nobel. One plant was moved from Pensacola, Florida on
over 300 truck loads to Cheyenne, Wyoming and the other
from Virginia to Port Ewing, New York. DHG was responsible for the match-marking, supervised all of the trucking
operations, and performed multiple critical lifts inside an
operating plant.

Turn Key Installation
CONTRACTING
DHG Contracting can provide the trades needed to perform complete, ‘Turn Key’ installations.
From mechanical to millwright to electrical, we provide worry free service.
DHG Contracting was prime contractor for the installation
of an Eisenmann thermal oxidizer, associated equipment and
vessels and structural steel for International Paper.

Turn Key Installation
DHG Contracting installed three complete paint shops, two body shops and one assembly line in automotive
manufacturing plants in South Carolina, Alabama, Ohio and Michigan.
DHGC was sub-contracted by Sharpe Engineering and
the HJ Heinz Corporation to mechanically install all process
equipment for the new Heinz Frozen Foods plant in Florence, SC.

DHG Contracting has the most capable Ironworkers, millwrights and equipment operators on staff as well

DHG Contracting utilizing two twin lifts and Gantry to lift and install a
portion of a Deffenbacher 1,800 ton straight side press for Roechling
(formerly Seeber U.S.A.). DHG was contracted to install two press,
modify steel around the press pit and install blow molding machines in
their Duncan, South Carolina facility.
Millwright Services
DHG Contracting was hired by TI Automotive to move a Krupp blow molding
machine which included two clamps and robots that handled the injected material.
DHG Contracting owns top-of-the-line equipment to help you with preventative maintenance.
We can align and level using either laser or optics and have thermal imaging capabilities.
