6th Annual Gene Upshaw Memorial Golf Classic

As we enter the sixth year of the Gene Upshaw Memorial Golf Classic, I am
amazed at what we have accomplished. Since the inaugural tournament in 2009,
we have raised $670,000 for the Tahoe Forest Health System, the Gene Upshaw
Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center and the Tahoe Institute for Rural Health
Research.
As a Hall of Fame NFL player, Executive Director of the NFL Players Association
and devoted family man, Gene was an inspiration to many. Our family is grateful
that his legacy will live on at the new, state-of-the-art Gene Upshaw Memorial
Tahoe Forest Cancer Center, which officially opened in July, 2012. I encourage
you to schedule a private tour to see this beautiful new facility.
As always, we will feature a roster of high profile NFL players and other sports
celebrities who will play alongside golfers, but even if you don’t play golf you can
support our efforts by attending the Pairings Party the night before the tournament.
It is a great opportunity to meet celebrities and bid on unique sports memorabilia
and exciting silent and live auction items.
