TECHNOLOGY 3-D Strap TUSA’s patented 3-D strap is a true three-dimensional design that snugly fits against the head’s natural curvature. The 3-D strap offers unprecedented comfort and fit unlike standard flat mask straps. Round Edge Skirt TUSA’s Round Edge Skirt features a proprietary round edge cross-sectionally shaped skirt. This rounded edge results in a soft fit that suppresses pressure and reduces creasing left on the face. The “planar fit, instead of linear fit” silicone skirt maintains great fit and unprecedented comfort. 5 Angle Strap Adjustor The 5 Angle Strap Adjustor allows for a five position micro-adjustment on both the left and right sides of the mask. This enables vertical (up/down) and horizontal (left/right) pressure on the face to be delicately adjusted for the optimum fit. Skirt Mounted Quick Adjust Buckle System The Quick-Adjust Buckle System incorporates a newly-designed low-profile buckle into the crystal silicone skirt of the mask. The result is a compact, lightweight, technologically advanced mask design that can be easily and quickly adjusted for a perfect fit. Anti-Reflective (A/R) Lens Treatment Standard glass lenses can reflect up to 15% of available light reducing vision underwater. TUSA’s Anti-Reflective (A/R) Lens Treatment decreases internal and external reflected light. This reduction increases light transmission to 95% resulting in significantly enhanced color, clarity, contrast and better overall vision underwater. UV Lens Treatment Increased exposure to UV light can damage the eyes especially in marine environments where reflectivity is high. TUSA’s UV Lens Treatment provides 100% protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Blocking 100% of the ultraviolet spectrum (under 400nm) provides greater eye protection without sacrificing light transmission or vision. Hyperdry Purge Clearing a mask has never been easier thanks to our patented Hyperdry System. Simply breathe out through your nose and any water that has accumulated in your mask is forced out through a one-way purge valve. Once the mask is clear, the valve seals shut. masks Panoramic View Panoramic View masks feature a variety of designs offering an incredibly wide field-ofview. Several designs incorporate minimum frame volumes, domed side-windows, reduced frame structures as well as three and four window styles for maximum vision. Rx Lens Rx lenses are offered on several styles of masks. This option allows the diver to choose right and left lens powers in both a variety of diopters for maximum flexibility and for a custom fit. BK 18 TECHNOLOGY Propeller Technology TUSA’s advanced split fins employ Propeller-Fin™ Technology, which delivers ultra-high performance with a low amplitude rapid flutter kick. As the fin moves through the water its two wing-shaped surfaces create lift and forward propulsion like a propeller. Any water traveling over the top of the blade is funneled into and out of the split between the blades. Efficiency is increased while drag and effort is reduced. Angled Blade Design (A.B.D.) TUSA’s Angled Blade Design is employed on the SF-15, SF-8 and SF-6 fins. A standard flat fin inhibits propulsion solely by fault of design. An angle between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg remains when the leg is extended to kick. This angle causes 10% of the propulsion to be lost. The Angled Blade Design accommodates for this anatomical characteristic and ensures maximum efficiency throughout the kicking cycle. EZ Strap and Buckle System TUSA’s EZ strap and Buckle System allows fins to be quickly and easily adjusted with minimal effort. Adjustment can be made while the fins are worn, allowing for a precise fit and ease of removal when necessary. H.B.S. An angle between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg remains when the leg is extended to kick. This angle causes 10% of the propulsion to be lost. TUSA’s patented 27°angled blade design employed on the SF-15 X-Pert Zoom Z-3 accommodates for this anatomical characteristic and ensures maximum efficiency throughout the kicking cycle. This means that 100% of the energy expended during the kicking phase is used for forward diver propulsion. Simply, TUSA’s SF-15 X-Pert Zoom Z-3 maximizes the efficiency and performance of a split fin by combining the 27° technology with enhanced composite materials and a revolutionary blade design. 1.62 1.60 1.55 Energy Consumption Comparison Chart Graph 2 (w/h) X-Pert Zoom Z-3 (SF-15) FINS Technology SF-6 BK [PAT.P.] • Advanced Multi-Flex Blade design PP • 3 material construction • 20° Angled design for maximum kicking efficiency CBL • TUSA Patented easy-to-adjust strap features quick release buckles R • Soft foot pocket enhances fit and increases ease of entry and comfort FY Color Availability size XS / S / M / L / XL • TUSA’s unique Advanced Multi-Flex Blade, made from 3 different materials Fins with world-class efficiency, making the most of your energy In 1993 TUSA introduced the SF-7700 (IMPREX fin) to the market. This fin achieves strong propulsion by combining two different materials to create an efficient water channeling action. Since it first went on sale, over 600,000 divers have used it worldwide. The IMPREX fin has been the undisputed leader in the plastic fin market. Now, ten years later, it is moving to the next development stage. The next generation IMPREX Tri-Ex fin utilizes three different materials. First is the side rib (hard material), efficiently converting the energy of a kick into propelling power. Second is the blade (medium-hard material), increasing the efficiency of the water channel. Third is the soft pocket (soft material), enhancing the fitting comfort of the boots. The designers expanded the blade angle theory that had produced a strong propulsion force with only a light kick in the SF-8 model. A fin testing robot was used to analyze on a computer the propulsion (speed) and the electrical load when kicking. Tests were also run using real divers in a water circulating pool. These tests were repeated many times, the result being that the blade angle was set at 20 degrees, the most comfortable for the diver. A smooth shape was also created, with no level differences between the foot pocket and blade. This means that compared with conventional products, less initial load (energy) is required when first starting to kick. The excellent fit and non-wasteful transmission of energy ensures that body fatigue and air consumption is minimized. Air Consumption Performance Test 22 23 FINS Technology SF-8 [PAT.P.] • Innovative hydrofoil design that produces forward motion (lift) with less effort • Propeller-fin™ technology and super lightweight design achieve the high performance with less effort • 27° Angled design for maximum kicking efficiency HBK CBL • TUSA patented EZ Strap and Buckle System size S / M / L Color Availability HBK • Angled design for maximum kicking efficiency Speed Comparison Chart Graph 1 27° Tech Reasons When using the standard, flat fin, propulsion is inhibited solely by fault of design. When the leg is completely extended, there remains an angle of 27 degrees between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg, as shown in the diagram. This 27-degree angle causes 10% of the propulsion that is produced by the kicking motion to be lost. Because the fin is angled below the body, during the kick phase, the body is pushed up and toward, instead of straight ahead. With a normal flat fin, 10% of the diver’s exertion to propel him forward is lost by battling this upward force. With the SF-8 fin, that 27-degree angle has been incorporated into the fin. This means that when the leg is fully extended, even though the angle exists between the foot and calf, the fin ends up parallel to the leg. 100% of the energy expended during the kicking phase is directed toward the propulsion of the diver. It weighs in at just 630g making it ideal for travel and the weight-conscious diver. The R-600 is configured with 2 H.P. ports and 4 L.P. ports allowing for versatile hose placement. Available options include the EK-600 environmental kit and DIN-R600 conversion kit. The Sequential Exhaust Assist (S.E.A.) is a revolutionary new second stage design featuring a dual exhaust system. The S.E.A. system consists of an enlarged primary and an auxiliary exhaust. The auxiliary exhaust, located on top of the S-80 elliptical case, works in union with the primary to significantly decrease exhalation resistance. • Moisture Exchange Plate The S-80 second stage incorporates a moisture exchange plate that captures condensation produced by inhalation and exhalation efforts. This condensation increases the humidity of the air breathed and helps to reduce that “dry mouth” sensation often experienced while diving. Exhalation resistance directly affects the diver’s natural breathing cycle. By reducing this resistance or increasing exhalation performance, the diver breathes more naturally and comfortably reducing respiration rate and air consumption. Paired with the R-600 first stage, the S-80 offers a seemingly effortless underwater experience regardless of the workload. • Universal swivel hose joint • Venturi Adjustment Lever The addition of a venturi adjustment lever on the S-80 allows the regulator to power assist the diver when underwater For optimum performance and comfort, a swivel joint is fitted between the second stage of the RS-680. • Breathing resistance adjustment knob With the S-80 you simply rotate the flow adjustment knob on the side with its ideal click feeling for free control of the air supply volume according to your needs. The Independent Harness System isolates the BC jacket's harness from the air cell, tightly supporting the tank even with changes in air cell inflation/deflation. The I.H.S. prevents tank slippage and eliminates any gaps between the tank and your back. The BCJ-4000 is equipped with TUSA’s next generation I.H.S. featuring an integrated carry handle, additional adjustability to dial in a perfect fit and a neutrally buoyant construction allowing the diver to remove approximately 1kg/2.2lbs from their system. TUSA's Ultimate Stabilizing Harness completely eliminates tank roll and delivers an amazing fit. The U.S.H. securely holds the air cylinder in place with optimally placed rails and brings the tank closer to the body increasing tank control while reducing weight. The A.W.L.S. allows the diver to insert weights into the weight-cartridges and loading them easily into the front of the BC jacket. Additionally, with weight distribution to the shoulder area, the weighted-down feeling that is traditionally associated with weight belts is eliminated. 4kg/8lbs. (maximum: 6kg/12lbs.) of weight can be placed in each of the left and right sides, and two pockets on the rear of the jacket can each hold up to 2kg/4lbs. of additional weight. (Total recommended weight: 10kg/20lbs.; maximum: 16kg/32lbs.) The weight cartridge is easy to release in an emergency, but the safety lock makes sure that it is not released accidentally. • Waist Support System The Waist Support System significantly enhances comfort and fit by dispersing the weight load around the hips. The W.S.S. integrates the adjustable shoulder harness system with the rear stabilizing plate and cummerbund to effectively unload the hips while ensuring a snug fit. • 3-D Foam Padded Lumbar and Backpad The Soverin backpad area is constructed of a newly developed 3-dimensional foam.
