Austria & Germany October 2 - 10, 2016 with host RALPH HIPP, Anchor Local Departur e • LOW DEPOSIT • GUARA NTEED PRICES Ralph Hipp Ralph Hipp has worked in radio and television since the early 1970s, starting as a teenaged radio announcer in Gainesville, Florida during his time as a journalism student at the University of Florida. His television reporting began in Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida before trying his hand as a sportscaster in Richmond, Virginia and even at KDVV-FM in Topeka during the late 70s. His radio work there eventually helped him land the nightly news anchor job at WIBW-TV where he began on the 10:00 p.m. news more than 25 years ago. Today, Ralph enjoys welcoming Northeast Kansans back to his famous “red couch” talk show that returned last October. In his television work in the Midwest, Ralph has covered political leaders such as Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev and Bill Clinton. The most fun came from his interviews with television stars like Ed Asner from the “Mary Tyler Moore Show,” William Christopher of “M*A*S*H” or Gary Sandy of “WKRP in Cincinnati” which also starred WIBW-TV alum Gordon Jump. Ralph enjoys the daily work of delivering the news, helping their young journalists get better, interviewing people from all over the area, and highlighting outstanding efforts of “Good Kids” around Topeka. Ralph and his wife Sheila are veteran Holiday Vacationers, leading Kansans to Ireland, British Columbia, Alaska, New England, Austria & Germany, Paris and Yosemite & Coastal California. They welcome you on this exciting trip to Austria & Germany.
