The first night of class Cindy will cover concept,
measuring, cutting and piecing. Please bring

first night you will sign up for individualized lab
time to work four additional hours on your
T-shirt quilt with Cindy. Class held at Columbus

Join expert T-shirt quilter, Cindy Wagner, as
she demonstrates step-by-step how to make a
memory quilt from your collection. Even if
you've never made a quilt before, if you can
sew a straight line on a sewing machine, you
can make a T-shirt quilt! You will be able to get
started on the process under Cindy's guidance
and be ready to complete the quilt on your
own.
Basics of Handbuilt Pottery
Learn how to make beautiful pieces of art with simple tools and your hands. Linda Wheatley, will
demonstrate three methods: pinchpot, coiling and slab technique. Each student will take home
three pieces of amazing pottery.

Mickey Leptak
Painting furniture is just as popular as ever! Mickey Leptak, who has 50
years in furniture refinishing will cover the do's and don'ts of prepping
the piece, types of paints, applying the paint, distressing, waxing,
glazing and so much more. Please bring a small table or chair to work

— Cement Draped Fabric Garden Pots
A cement draped fabric garden pot is constructed much like a hypertufa. Each garden
pot is totally unique and different. Students will each make a garden pot so wear

Intro to the Computer - Tuesday/Thursday, September 27 & 29, 9-11 a.m., $26
Get familiar with the computer equipment and terminology used to understand the purpose of
the computer and all that it can be used for. Learn how to use the mouse and understand some of
the basic keys/functions on the keyboard.
Computer Fundamentals - Wednesdays, October 5, 12, 19, 26 & Nov. 2 & 9, 9-11 a.m., $78

Prerequisites: Completion of Intro to the Computer or equivalent skills.
Whether you want to know how to use the computer for home or to gain skills for the workforce,
this six week class will cover the absolute basics of what you need to know the most! Learn how to
compose a basic letter, save files, access the Internet and use email.
All students must have a solid understanding
of how to use the computer to take any of the following classes.
Introduction to Microsoft Software Basics - Thursday, Sept. 29, 6-8 p.m., $30
This class is for the beginner who has never used MS Excel or Word programs before, and wants to
learn the absolute basics. You will learn how to access the software programs and interpret the
screen layouts. Focus is placed on the HOME tab used within all of Microsoft’s software programs
(font style, font size, bold, italicize, underline, change color, etc).
NOTE: If you are planning on attending the MS Word and/or MS Excel classes – these basic skills are
required.
MS Excel Basics - Tuesday/Thursday, October 4 & 6, 6-8 p.m., $40
Prerequisites: Completion of Intro to MS Software Basics class on
September 29th or equivalent skills.
Learn how to build a worksheet from scratch and use formulas to create an Excel database.
MS Word Basics - Tuesday/Thursday, October 11, 13, 18 & 20, 6-8 p.m., $60
Prerequisites: Completion of Intro to MS Software Basics class on Sept. 29th or equivalent skills.
Take your current MS Word skills to the next level. Learn how to use the cut, copy and paste
functions; how to insert photos and graphics; and how to use the table function.
Anything and Everything to Do with Your Pictures Using a Computer - Tuesday/Thursday,
Oct. 25, 27 & Nov. 1, 9-11 a.m. or 6-8 p.m., $50
Learn how to organize digital files, transfer your files from your camera to your computer,
move around your digital files, delete digital files, order prints on-line, scan pictures and save to
your computer, attach a picture to an email and save a picture sent to you in an email.
Sharing Pictures on Facebook - Thursday, Nov. 3, 9-noon or 6-9 p.m., $35
Learn how to view pictures, save pictures from fb to your computer, delete picture posts from
your timeline, change your cover photo, change your profile picture, post a picture and create a
photo album on Facebook. NOTE: Students MUST bring their IDs and passwords with them to the
class for their Facebook account.

Computer Classes
To take any of these classes, you must bring your own iPad (excludes iPad PRO), and have an
established Apple account. Students must bring their Apple ID and password with them to each class.

Getting to Know Your iPad - Mon., Wed. & Fri., Sept. 26, 28 & 30, 9-11 a.m. or 6-8 p.m., $50
This class introduces the student to all the hardware, functions and applications associated with
using the iPad.
Anything and Everything to Do with Your Pictures Using an iPad - Tuesday/Thursday,
11/8/16, 11/15/16 & 11/17/16, 9-11 a.m. or 6-8 p.m., $50
Prerequisites: Completion of Getting to Know Your iPad or equivalent skills. Also, knowledge of
how to use the internet and email accounts.
You want to take pictures and videos, but how do you look at them afterwards? Where and how
do you store your pictures/videos? Do you have pictures that you have taken on your iPad, and
you want to get prints ordered on-line? Or, maybe you want to share your photos in an email. This
class will show you how to do all of that. You will learn how to take a picture, edit, locate, make it
your wallpaper, assign a picture to your contacts, order prints, or send in an email. We will also
discuss storage options (iCloud, etc).
How to Use the FACETIME and MESSAGES apps - Wednesday, 11/16/16, 6-8 p.m., $30
Whether it be for private conversations or messages that you want to send to a contact or you
want to ask someone to join a conference call, these two apps will allow you to communicate
through the iPad. This class will introduce you to Facetime & Messages apps. Review of the
CONTACTS app will also be done.

Positive Change for an Empowered Life

will allow you to lead an empowered life.
Discover the you through positive mind-set
practices. This class will be led by Stacie,
mind-set performance coach. You will focus

self-abuse tactics that keep you from moving

The instructor, Mrs Karen Blank, has been using
sign language professionally for many years in a
variety of settings. Currently, she is working as
an educational and private practice interpreter.
She holds educational, state and national
interpreting certifications.
Students will be responsible for purchasing the
