stomp boxes
In the perfect world the input impedance of all stomp boxes should be 1M , which is identical to the input impedance of a tube amplifier, or higher. The output impedance should be very low, enabling the stomp box to drive a long cable back to your amp without tonal loss and added noise. In the real world this is often not the case. One of the main problems is that the actual in-/output impedance varies a lot within stomp boxes of different makes and kinds. We have seen input impedances as low as 100k. This will load your guitar resulting in lost highs and volume. BF2M rear With true bypass a stomp box acts as a piece of cable when bypassed, but when active it has both input and output impedance, and hence the impedance of your pedal board will change depending in which pedals are active. Even the performance of the active pedals will change when submitted to these different impedances from the other active pedals. The result is a total chaos in your palette of sounds and - most likely - added noise. Input impedance: Send impedance: Return impedance: Output impedance: 1M 100 50k 100 stomp boxes All our stomp boxes have a fixed 1M input impedance (like the input impedance of your amplifier) and a fixed output impedance of 100 - even when bypassed. BF2M BR1 DST1 ODR1 ODR2 TR1 dual buffer uff booster distoron overdrive fuzz fu overdrive tremolo You can not hear it - but you can definitely hear if it is not here ! Up to +25dB of boost without changing your tone. Use it in front of the amp as switchable gain stage to push the amp a little harder, or use it in the effects loop of your amp for i.e. solo levels. The DST1 is the most punchy, dynamic, low-noise, in-your-face high gain stomp box you have ever heard. Ranging from cranked Plexi sound to screaming lead sounds, with all the dynamics of a tube amplifier. This is like having a high gain tube amp in a box. The ODR1 was originally designed to add a Plexi feeling to our OD50 Tube Amplifier, but it has proven itself to be so much more. A smooth, dynamic overdrive unit designed to emulate the overdrive sound of our highly recognized OD50 Tube Amplifier. The TR1 tremolo is a unit we have built for several years exclusively as a Custom Shop product. It has now been refined and offered for the first time as a standard product. A remarkable tube-like overdrive stomp box with extreme dynamics and a touch of fuzz added. Utilizing selected germanium diodes, the performance of the ODR1 is in a league of its own. This unit is perfect for overdrive tones ranging from a semi-cranked AC30 to the sound of Hendrix. Our high impedance input buffer ensures a constant high impedance load on your guitar at all times, and furthermore it provides you with a Tuner Output and a low impedance output (SEND). The 2nd part of the BF2M is our highly recognized ultra low-noise Line Driver, which will drive even a very long cable back to your amp without changing your tone or adding noise. The Mute switch enables you to tune in silence. The BR1 features a BOOST control which will set the amount of boost added. With the toggle switch you can select a High Frequency Damping feature. The ratio between the boost level control and the HF damping filter is linear. More boost - more damping. Great for soloing. The TONE control is not a traditional tone control, but a High Frequency Damping control. Turned all the way up the TONE control is not active. The TR1 will reproduce the tremolo effect of old vintage amplifiers, but without the noise. Warm and subtle; yet very distinct sounding. To eliminate the volume drop most tremolo units exhibit, we have incorporated a boost circuit that will lift the tremolo effect to where it should be.
